I have little details about the "fight". Could have been a heated exchange, could have been Tyson vs. Holyfield. The way this team played down the stretch, including both of these two you had mentioned, there was obviously built-up anger.
Bad Attitude - yes. It really starts with going to class. Started in high school. He attended 2 schools. Started out at North Shore Country Day HS, for one reason, and that's grades. Unfortunately, like I have mentioned, he did not care about grades. He wanted publicity for his talents, he committed to Illinois as a freshman, so he got into a "bigger" program that got some notoriety beyond playing other prep schools. So he went to Waukegan. And, he got noticed, to the tune of being a McDonald's all-american.
I'm not trying to stick up for the kid. Am I upset he's gone so early? Yah. I waited four years to get him in an Illini uniform and it lasted a couple months, due in large part to....grades. He got along with everybody on the team well. His +/- on the court was better than any other person on the team.
Bottom line, every "situation" he was thrown into, fights, not showing up, leaving, etc...was handled completely wrong. At other programs, coaches speak up, discipline, and move forward. Get it out in the open, and move forward. My point here is, everything that happened this year is pure speculation. Not a single person outside of that lockerroom has any idea of what happened. McDonald All-American's come to programs to play right away. He didn't play enough from the start.
Fortunately for this kid, he's been given another chance. He gets to concentrate on the game, without having to worry about grades or going to class or any of that other garbage. Do I expect him to succeed? I have no idea, but he has the talent to do so. Anyone who can look at this draft class and say he is not top 30 talent has no knowledge of the game.
The NBA front office personell must be loaded with idiots NROPP ?

Forgive me for not checking the forum on a daily basis, feel free to bump at your convenience. At the time of my original post, which was mid-April, he was clearly top 30 and could be found on just about every mock in the world at that place, and most people who had spoken about him put him at that place. When June hit, it became public that he wasn't showing up for workouts for teams that were interested in his game, which caused a hit. He wouldn't answer questions or open up to teams that showed interest outside of a few. If that's the case, and the reports are true, then the kid basically gets to choose where he wants to play, which sounds like his plan to begin with.
Aside from that, yah, I was wrong I guess. NBA Draft is different with only two rounds, most teams draft on talent, and the entire lockout situation caused many teams to go overseas and find talent. The Bulls traded up, and drafted a kid that won't appear until 2016, and the sole purpose is they don't have to pay him until then. Was a different type of draft this year. A lot less talent at the top of the draft than most years, but decent talent in the bottom half. I said top 30 talent, and that talent generally doesn't mean you are going to get drafted top 30.
Was a long list of guys I pegged and was shocked they weren't taken. Happens.

Still haven't heard from nropp on this matter. But he is spouting off like a genius concerning some goofy early tournament. Can't give a lot of credence to a guy who thinks Jereme Richmond is going to play in the league, then won't comment any further.

And for the record, he was top 30 talent. And I'll argue that to my death. The kid just didn't have his head on straight.
