Is CMU a trap?

Thin slate tonight so I've been looking at each game individually and this game makes me think...

Obviously CMU and WMU have the rivalry, but is that enough to think WMU keeps it within 4? Line opened at -4 and moved down to -3.5 even though 71% of the public is hitting CMU.

I took WMU in the "trap game" +2 line vs Ohio a couple days ago... WMU had a huge comeback in the 2H to win that game. CMU on the other hand is coming off a disappointing loss vs Buffalo after looking like they had the game won. I'd imagine CMU is coming into this home game a little hungrier than the Broncos.

- CMU is 9-1 at home this year while WMU is winless on the road
- CMU at home is averaging nearly 92 points a game while WMU comes in around 68 on the road. 

Only thing that I can think of is WMU coming in with a defensive game plan to try and slow down the Chips (O/U line went from 178 to 176) but I just can't see it. I'm thinking if the line moves down any more (anywhere from +2 to +3 for WMU) then Vegas is thinking this will be another trap. 

Any inputs would be great, and BOL to all of you

This is my Value or Trap game of the Night ...

CM ..I had CM as a 5 1/2  point fav to open instead they open 3 1/2 and now they are CM - 2 ?

Reminds me a bit of St Johns the other night line wise not talent wise ..I had Marquette as a -7 fav they open at like 4 1/2 and dropped to - 2 1/2 by game time ..

Been wrong many times before , but on nights where there is limited games like Friday's card , the oddsmakers are usually dead on with their lines ....just my opinion guys ....

There might be an injury as well .... ?? Best to check ....

For me ...I got WM + 4 before the drop I bought 1/2 ...

Funny how capping works eh? Spend your time looking for a line in our and favor only leaving us to deal with the mental exhaustion of "this must be a trap then". I'll be on CMU, hard to fade a team strictly due to trap hunches. I see no statistical advantage for WMU and I don't see CMU losing two in a row with the back end at home to a team like WMU. Keene goes off, CMU by 10+.

I like the rational here but I think the in-state rivalry will play a factor as well. I can't see WMU winning, but decided to get them at +8.5 in a teaser because of the good 'ol gut feeling. Good luck but I'm hoping your 10+ points is off a little!

Right on, that's a decent play imo. I don't think I'll be capping this game, I will probably throw them on a proline for all the Ontario fellas out here which means CMU -5.5. Maybe we can both hit BOL.

Saw that, initially I thought we both had a very similar view on the game hahaha. BOL to you if you end up capping this game... CMU by 6 would be perfect

There's no such thing as a trap- because who do you think is laying it?

 And don't say "Vegas",  That's just ignorant-

It's not like CMU is so much better than WMU- I'm not saying games aren't fixed and have long suspected those Thursday night MAC football games (where they are the only games going, and get a lot of action) as being "manipulated" by players taking money...But  "a trap"?

Why don'y you put an "I think" or an "in my opinion" before or after your predictions? We are all gamblers and we all know that anything can happen and that you don't know anything for sure. It just sounds stupid posting predictions like that- and it dilutes your opinion

clearly there are such things as a trap...its ignorant to think there isnt... any post someone posts if they do not say this is the lock of the year...is a in my opinion or a i think.... no need to bash or make ur self look like some higher superior ... these are all peoples opinions

These are two crappy little programs with crappy little players-  These guys all take turns beating each other and I DON'T THINK CMU is heads and shoulders better than WMU. It's probably the only national televised game for WMU.  All the WMU players family n friends are watching so you'll probably see thier best effort of the year.  I don't think CMU is gonna blow this WMU team out tonight. That's just my opinion, for whatever it's worth.

obviously the oddsmakers...why would they make the spreads so easy that you will win everytime...they want to bait people into betting the wrong side...that is the definition of a trap....who ae you bro
