Someone please answer this question for me. Does the casino not have too much exposure here? Looks like a no brainer.
If 70% of you Yahoos are betting UNC why does this line not move?

Oh yes- no argument that the slots make the casino's a bunch of dough. But the books operate but taking as much money on both sides evenly and taking the juice, why not move this line to even up the 71.7% of people betting that UNC covers?
Is the smart money on Wash St?

May be but for every game that has 70% on one side go off as a winner the casinos/sportsbook also have 1 game that goes the other way. Joe Public doesnt bet CBB all year then the Tourney rolls around and they jump in head first for all the big names.......UNC Kansas UCLA Memphis..........How much you think Joe Public lost on GT/Davidson the other day????????? I dont know for sure and I know I was on Davidson, but the majority of the betting public was all over GT and they got slaughtered.

LOL no just making the argument that although vegas would rather have even money on both sides that it will all even out in the wash. I too would assume that this game will go off somewhere around 9 and the sides will even up a bit, however if it doesnt vegas probably wont bat an eye at it. just my .02 worth

Look this thing is easy-
If the casino has exposure at 7-they move it to 8.
If everyone still bets UNC 9,10,11,12 etc until it evens up.
Why would they take the risk? If the line is right, you get 50-50 and take the juice.
THE POINT IS SOMEONE IS BETTING A LOT OF MONEY ON WASH ST TO COVER THE 71.7% OF PEOPLE LOADING UP ON UNC.
AGAIN, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I would doubt that alot of money is pouring in on Wash. St., why would the people that do bet alot of money that know this line will move up bet alot of money now when they know by game time they will probably get 8.5 or 9. Im not doubting you are on the right side, as I will probably not play this game anyway, but to say that 71% are on a side and the line isnt moving isnt a good reason IMHO. Happens alot. BOL with your play.

Just because 70% of the public is on UNC doesn't mean 70% of the money is. Books don't care how many people bet on each team, they just want the money to be even. If 1,000 people place $20 bets on UNC, and 10 people place $2,000 on Wash St the money is still even despite the public being on UNC heavily.
As for the smart money being on UNC, that's completely wrong. Smart money would never be on a big name program laying 8 points in a neutral site game.

well-put chase...i just don't think i can bite my nails the entire game worrying about each possible run UNC can go on, as well as their great FT shooting despite Wazzu looking like the correct angle for this one
