I watched the ND/FSU game last night and I couldn't believe that ND as the #2 seed and FSU was #11 in that matchup. 

ND was completely outmatched by FSU. Honestly it was like watching david vs goliath, a heavy weight vs a lightweight or something. Like they didn't even belong in the same league. ND was severly outmatched in athleticism, size, strength, and just about everything. It wasn't like a fluke game you could easily tell who the much better team was here and it was FSU. How did ND even get to that spot? by just bombing 3's and getting lucky all the time? Because that seemed to be the only potential thing they could rely on to win.

My question is how the hell was ND ranked so much higher than FSU? How do they come up with this seeding are you fucking kidding me? Are they retarded? How do they do this shit?

I never understood college sports and why anyone would even want to watch these boring ugly games when you have star athletes you can watch instead in the prof arena. Unless you have some vested interest in a particular school or a wager on a game, why would you waste your time watching this crap that has a tournament structure that doesn't even make any sense?

I wish i could have the time back i spent watching that stupid game and that gay ass ND team.

LOL i feel your pain.  I had Notre Dame big and it was painful to watch.  Now we have to sit through VCU-FSU.  I won't spend a second watching that game.

However there have been some pretty entertaining games so far.  A lot of games coming down to the wire.  I haven't even entertained the thought of watching NBA for the last month or so.  

Why watch guys who are satisfied with losing because they are making enough money to forget about the loss?  These college kids live or die to an extent on these games.  They put their heart and soul into this tournament.  NBA players don't have the same hunger or determination.

sorry you lost on ND.

They did suck, they are a better squad than they showed last pm. You can have the pro game, I will take the NCAA where the kids try hard every time and want to win. They are not concerned about rushing back to their 20mil mansiion/posses/girlfriends (multiple)/servants.  NBA

FSU is a miserable matchup for about 80% of College teams

ND did not play well at all and thats an understatement.

Gotta give FSU credit. They hit ND in the mouth and ND never recovered. ND relies on their shooting and they couldn't hit shots.

it boils down to matchups.  fsu matched up well with ndame.
fsu may not match up as well against a Kansas or OhioSt

But I can tell you that have watched enough games to know that the players actually do play hard and with passion you can see it in their emotions and hustle. They get fired up they get into it. You can see how they want it.  Paid or not men have egos and are competitive and they don't like to lose. Aside from that you have players trying to look good on national tv and more importantly their play will determine their worth when its time for contract renegotiation. 

Now having said that, there are certain players in the NBA who are more passionate and and play harder than others. You can see it. I agree there are some that sometimes don't show up and play hard or just play selfishly.

What I see more often though is that an entire team doesn't show up rather than an individual player. Its like they all went in with the mindset of on not playing 100% including the caoch and didn't care if they lost that particular game because it didn't mean much to them.  Like a great team will just get done whooping another great team and the then they struggle beating a crappy team. That i've seen alot.  Your left thinking like damn wtf? the whole team just didn't show up. (It's basically that whole "let down spot" theory you read about so much here on covers.)

Ask yourself this: Why were the Heat players crying after their loss if they didn't care?

Also its a hell of a lot more exciting watching players like kobe, L james, steve nash, etc. making plays that most of these college scrubs could only dream of making.

Besides wouldn't you rather watch players who are the best in the world actually getting paid MILLIONS for us to watch and be entertained by?

If ND just hit their normal % of shots, they win. That's how bad they shot. Game over.

It did seem like a mismatch though. That's WHY ND missed so many shots. Great pressure by FSU.

NBA basketball sucks..the college game is much more exciting to much..I was watching the Wisconsin game the other day and they had 4 white guys on the court at the same time..beautiful!

To answer your question, No..i wouldn't rather watch a bunch of guys getting paid millions of dollars, partly because i think pro athletes are grossly overpaid, nobody should get paid that kind of money to play a ball game in my opinion, i would never pay a dollar of my money to go see an NBA game..if they want to pay child support to their baby's momma, or pay their 3 personal assistants, or buy a 50k watch they will have to do it with someone elses's money, im not contributing to it.

I dont care what anyone says, when you start paying people millions of dollars to play a game it will take some of the intensity away from the game, the sting of losing is much lesser when you go home to a multi million dollar house with a hot chick and a great meal waiting..it's like former boxing champion Riddick Bowe said when asked about his training after he became rich..he said it's hard to wake up at 4am to go running when you're waking up in silk pajamas..money changes peoples attitudes.

Ok obviously I get that about the matchup.  then explain why ND was favored by -4.5 in this matchup? You think the linesmakers don't know this? The oddsmakers aren't stupid they come up with the line based on the matchup between two teams. The line was way off. 

ND was missing their shots because FSU was in their face playing great D all game. So that shouldn't have been a shocker since FSU had the #1 rated D in the country. ND had no interior game. Everyone on FSU was like 3 times bigger, stronger than the ND players. It was actually kind of comical to watch.  Granted FSU shot at a higher % than average, but still this was a complete mismatch across the floor. 

As a side note this isn't about me losing a wager on ND I did have have a tiny play on ND in a teaser just for fun but it's more about pointing out the gross mismatch in this game and the seeding & odds being uncomprehendable in this one.

I know that ND is in the big east so if you told me that they just played in a division with a bunch of short white guys who just bombed 3's all day maybe I could understand how they got that far. but I know that's not true.

Yeah, it was inevitable.  Notre Dame and Vanderbilt are the softest, most poorly coached teams around come tourney time.  Year in, year out, never fail.  There's comfort in the predictability, though.  Just don't let the flashy regular season performances distract you - they're nothing but fool's gold when it comes to these two teams.

Jeeze... A forum is not just for "know it all" posters to just rattle off their self- righteous opinions and picks in threads and just try to prove how much they know and how stupid someone else is. It's so high school. Are you in high school?

 Posters ask questions from different perspectives and start a discussion based on topic or observation for others in the forum to offer some insight in the discussion.

I made an observation in that ND/FSU that I watched most of, and I'll bet I'm not the only one asking these same questions.
