That game was not normal in that Zags let SD shoot uncontested 3's at the end as well as layups compounded with Zags missed freethrows.

Exactly, but that is gambling. Yes -8 positions should be happy with the push and I feel for -8.5's, but if you were watching you knew SD scored literally 8 points in 20 seconds and so a push is okay, but still stings me!
