BOL ..UCONN ![]()
Saturday's recap:
Florida -3 (-110) (66/60) max play
Florida ML (-155) (31/20)
Florida 2H ML (-155) (31/20)
UConn 1H ML (-155) (62/40)
UConn ML (-150) (60/40)
UConn ML (-170) (34/20)
UConn FG -3 (-115) (46/40)
(-74u overall on Saturday)
Lost a few years off my life watching those two games. Disappointed that UConn couldn't pull off the full-game cover for a profitable day, but at the same time pretty damn thankful those two threes didn't go down in the final seconds.

Missed this earlier. Looks like we're on the same page tomorrow cause that's exactly how I played that one as well - 6.5 to 1 on the hottest team in the country? Sheeeyit, I'll take a small shot, especially given the parity in college basketball today. Love how none of the talking heads are giving VCU a chance in hell. I just don't understand how you can write off a team that has soundly beaten USC, Georgetown, Purdue and showed the ability to win the close one (FSU), despite being outrebounded by 17 and giving up 20 offensive rebounds. I understand that VCU's strength could play right into their hands, as KU is capable of shredding their pressure defense and have thrived in transition all season. As we all know the Jayhawks are balanced, deep, athletic, physical and defend the perimeter about as well as anyone in the country. And obviously the frontcourt of the Morris twins & Robinson is a matchup nightmare for VCU. Florida's frontcourt was a matchup nightmare for Butler and looked what happened. They shied away from the gameplan a bit in the 2H and stopped pounding the ball inside, Butler hit a couple timely threes and Stevens coached a helluva game down the stretch, even though he won't admit it. Parsons and Walker had been shooting the ball well coming in and ended up combining for 3-19. If you don't put these scrappy teams away down the stretch and give them a little bit of life, more often than not they're going to take advantage of the opportunity. All I keep hearing is how great Kansas is, how easy of a road they have and that the NCAA should just go ahead and hand them over the trophy. It may very well turn out that way, but I wouldn't count the chickens before they hatched up against Shaka Smart, who's a great motivator and X's and O's guy. You better believe he's gonna throw the kitchen sink at KU by mixing defenses and pressure, changing speeds and finding ways to get his perimeter shooters open through J-Rod. If they catch KU slippin', hit their threes and force turnovers - watch out Houston.
Read this somewhere earlier regarding teams that have had a similar path as KU: Dating back to '03, one seeds coming off a victory against a 12 or 13 seed in the Sweet 16 are 1-6 ATS in the following Elite 8 game (just something to keep in mind, as this could be a mindset thing)
Also, love that Hubert, Digger and Bilas all picked UNC to beat UK. I've got so much coin tied up in the Cats that's it's made me uncomfortable - no way in hell I'm getting any sleep tonight.
Sorry for the long rant (wired right now) ![]()

Sunday's Card
Kentucky ML (-120) (168/140) max play x 2
Kentucky 1H ML (-117) (35.1/30)
VCU +11.5 (-110) (66/60) max play
VCU ML (+650) (5/32.5)
Kentucky +4.5/VCU +17.5 (-130) (65/50)
Kentucky -1.5/VCU +11.5 (parlay) (20/52.9)
Ky moneyline is the largest wager I've made this season. Some might think I'm wearing big blue shades or that I'm a homer, but I feel like if you have a better grasp of your team more than any other in the country, then by all means, play 'em or fade 'em (if you find an edge after taking an unbiased approach to the game, just like PurduePride and accventures do). For the record, I've wagered against Kentucky several times this season (mostly on the road during SEC play), fwiw. Cats march on to Houston and avenge their early season road loss to the Heels, in my humble opinion...

You're telling me I can get VCU +11.5 for one half of basketball when I just took 'em at that number for the full-game? VCU has been able to sustain their double-digit leads all tourney and no way in hell I could lay 11.5 in this spot with KU, even with the generous middle opportunity. Sitting this one out since I have enough tied up in the game, but any other day I'd take the 11.5 in a heartbeat with VCU... Just my two cents.

Your VCU play is looking great, and your decision to sit out the second half ultimately may end up being a wise one as well with KU having outscored VCU by 8 thus far.
