Early play Kansas/Big 12

I'm taking Kansas to win the Big 12 regular season @ +179. We all know anything can happen, but I like the Jayhawks chances better than the 36% win probability that +179 implies.

Good luck with Kansas bro. I think the departing of Gradey and Wilson to the NBA will be a blow to the offense but nobody in the big-12 has a center for Hunter so you have an edge. Also the way Kansas season ended in the tourney… Self not being present and all…. So much motivation to take this upcoming season by storm.

Thanks, Todd. I enjoy having a season-long play or two and prefer trying to pick a conference winner rather than taking an early guess at the NCAA tourney. As for Kansas; a lot of things can happen of course. But looking at the rest of the league, with new-comer Houston the next highest rated team, I like Self's chances to hang another Big 12 banner, at least enough to take the +179.

I agree 100%. Conference winning selection has way more victory efficiency than a long shot final four pick.

Kansas st was dead last last year at +7000 odds and came so close to winning it. I’m gonna take a dive in the big-12 again and see who I prefer for the concurrence title.. I’ve been studying all potential depth charts the last 3 days. Trying to get the muscle memory down packed on all players for this upcoming season. 

Any thoughts on this preseason play [Kansas to win B12 @ +179]? Not a lot has bolstered my confidence: Sputtered to first conference win against TCU, no bench scoring, Houston looking pretty strong (good test tonight at Iowa State)...  Kansas currently @ +220, Houston +173, who else has a shot, Baylor maybe?
