i wouldn't touch it at 4.5, 3 is different.

dook has a track record of blowing covers in the last 5 minutes of games in miraculous fasion.

May parlay the Dook ML with another game, but if I don't do that, I may take Va Tech at 5.5 when it gets there- I bet it will.

The Law of Seth Greenberg states that Virginia Tech MUST be squarely on the bubble on Selection Sunday.

Currently, the Hokies are off the bubble and in desperate need of a signature win.

They'll get it tonight.

If it stinks, there is a reason it stinks....look at UMASS -3 at RI last night...It stunk, and RI won in OT.

Vtech already has its signature win over virginia. They will be in the tourny. Duke has been an absolute nightmare for bettors this year. Off the top of my head duke may have covered 1 time in the past 2 months ... Im not joking.

Absurd to say these guys in the tourney already. Va Tech has 9 losses with a month to go. They have some REALLY  bad losses- Maryland, Boston College, Wake. Blown out by UNC at home, lost to BYU at home.

Still have Dook twice, FSU, NCSU, Virginia, at Miami and at Clemson then ACC Tourney. That's 5 losses easy.  You think NCAA wants them with 14 losses and three of them to awful teams?

 

Duke is the play

Not even close. At 12-9 (1-5 ACC), VA Tech is wayyyy outside the bubble right now, especially with an RPI of 85. They would be in the CBI if the season ended today.

And Virginia is not a "signature" win.

how is this line much different than when duke played clemson and were favored by 6.5...both teams arent too good and duke SHOULD beat them both...they beat clemson and will beat VT tonight and cover

VT can't rebound, what's there biggest guy 6'7?

This is similar to when UNC came to Blacksburg as 6.5 pt favs few weeks ago.  VT up at halftime, but UNC talent a lot better and finished Tech off in 2nd half.  VT has a history of playing UNC and Duke close, but VT is not that good this year.  Same thing will happen tonight, VT may keep it close in 1st half, but will end up losing by 10+.

The play is Duke -4.5.  I would be surprised if VT hangs around 1st half though.  May put a small play on Duke 1st half as well.

coach prob crawled thier ass and they dont want to slip up and lose a chance to contend for 1st place in the conference

VT is not as good as they have been in the past and they prob wont make the bubble this yr so greenburg wont have anything to complain about

To those that said "VTech always plays Duke close", where are you seeing that?  In their last 6 VTech has one win (last year), 4 of the other 5 were Duke DD wins and the other was a 7pt win.  Not that any of that matters, since the teams are not the same. But VTech last year was MUCH more competitive, and despite the fact that Duke is not as dominant as years past, they should have no issue winning this by 10+.

A win over Duke doesn't even put them CLOSE to the bubble.  They have ONE quality win (UVA) and plenty of bad losses (Maryland, BC, Wake, Minnesota).  VTech is NIT bound, IF they can stay above 0.500.

Duke does one thing.  They shoot threes.  Virginia Tech has been unimpressive but they defend the perimeter well.  25.9% three point shooting percentage against them this year, which is good for 2nd in the nation.  Plus being on the road in the middle of the week, I think the line is about right.  Wont be touching this game unless I throw it in a little parlay.

Va Tech is almost as bad against the spread as dookie is, so that's neutral.

 

I'd agree. I don't like dook but gotta say coach rat is one of the best ever and makes the most out of anything he has.  May lay off this game

Curious if the Cameron Crazies article in NYT is driving any VTech $ or having any effect on incoming bets for this game at all

following Va T. since their opening loss at Syracuse when 'cuse barely covered.  I know cause I was holding my pants.  If the guy did not hit his two free throws at the end, and they still had a shot at the cover but missed shots at the end.  I had them money-line at MN where they should have covered but Green was hurt at the end when he fell off the raised floor.  I seen Duke get blown out at Ohio St., struggle with Kansas at the Maui Invitational.
