Updated record after last night's 1-1 finish on Marquette and Morgan St:

31-19-2 ytd netting +139.5 units...
4-2 POD's +36 units...

3-4-1 on sunday netting +1.5 units....

I was on Memphis at -5 this morning and it is current going down!  It went from -5 +100 to -4.5 -110. Hmmmm.

I agree..line movement has me worried..i stayed away because it was 6, but now I can get 4.5 and buy it down to 4...i prob shouldnt let that bother me, but it seems to me honestly 90% of the time when I book a bet and the line goes noticeably in the opposite direction that I lose.

I'm actually seeing it back down to -4.5's at most sites. This is something that happens a lot and there could be a variety of reasons. Books could be experiencing heavy action on one side from the get go so they bump up the number based on action taken. After that is when line movement is mostly misread by people because after there initial movement, that's when the head games and tricks will be attempted and created by the books. If they have heavy action on one side and can't stop the bets from coming in they attempt to cast a warning sign to all remaining bettors have yet to wager on this game by conducting a line movement. Most people would refer to this as the classic head fake move as the books move the number back closer to it's opening number set. And in the process confuse a high number of people in the process (So it's a small win for Vegas and the books just by doing this). In this case if they are getting heavy action on this game and have already moved the number as they did (2 full points) they can't just keep giving more points to all of us bettors who wager on these games. Because if they opening up too big of a middle it's just going to attract all the professionals to jump right back on the other side and create a middle opportunity of winning both bets with just juice money being risked.  So sometimes a book's only option is to move the number back in the other direction. At least they have created confusion to the casual bettor and as anyone running a business would say you have to take the bad with the good. In this case causing a small cast of confusion is a win to them because in the long run books make plenty of money. This is why I usually don't worry to much about line movement when I make my betting selections. If you are going to watch line movement just remember the most important movement is the initial move. Anything after that is nothing short of a comedy show unless there is a specific reason attached to the move AKA a certain player injury or something or in football possible in climate weather...

Whats up my fellow cappers... new to this forum but been on this site for some time now. My last night's plays were (although never posted) Valparaiso +1.5, Murray St. +4.5 and Mid Ten St. +6

Well I would much rather have a -4.5 @ -110 then a -4 @ -120. If you are seriously pondering jumping on this bet then I would suggest watching where the number goes from here as if they want to move it back to -5 would be not too much different than having a -4.5. But while waiting to see where it goes you may be able to get a -4 @ -110 by waiting who knows...

I called earlier today and they told me Memphis -7.

I decided not to take it and wait for it to hit 8 so i could take Michigan. If i see my bookc has it again at -4. ill take Memphis.

And this is exactly why I don't let line movement effect my selections unless something of an injury has been noted...

Damn I wanted to take the under in the 2nd half of the Drexel game. Both teams had just 45 combined shots in the 1st half. I missed it. Too busy hunting for more value on the rest of this card....

i just dont see how mich will hang in there memphis offense scored 90+ last game with ease and mich is averaging about 70-75 points a game

What was the under? I missed it as well I did get the under for the game though. 

Both of my books have late postings on the O/U I was able to get UCLA/Cham under 135.5 though just came out

I currently am leaning heavily on Drake +7 and under 117. The Cavaliers have shot attempts so far this season of just 51, 46, 40 & 39. If Drake can formulate any type of offense they could have a decent chance at winning this game. Virginia clearly wants to bleed the clock and attempt to play solid defense and hope that translates into wins. Asking Virginia to cover larger numbers in that type of offense may be asking a lot. I just cashed a UVA -4 ticket vs Drexel a team that plays excellent defense but is clearly struggling on offense without Chris Fouch as Iv'e stated many times. Drake may have some nice value here along with the under. Still lokking though....
