huge sparty fan here and so many angles to take. . . 

-fears factor. kid has been thru a lot and it's obvious izzo loves him. not an elite scorer but a "gamer" but the "dirty" label is, sadly, increasingly justified.  does he respond positively (and does the team back their captain)

-msu offense. their half court game struggles well chronicled, and unless they push the ball "transition" they get muddled. this team isnt like those of years past - not sure if its personnel or coaching but with the illini length, problem

-"non punk factor" the illini are legit this year, maybe breaking through the underachieving label B underwood has (whether right or not) developed since coming to urbanachampaign. large part due to the players he has on the roster - no nonsense, do the work, no arrogant "cellys"

this is a game that in years past would be an easy "hammer" "empty the acct" "back up the brinks". coming off 2 losses, at breslin, some internal turmoil - izzo usually figures it out and the team shines.

but those days would also come with a -4 or -5 line

sadly I think sparty continues their slide, season not lost yet but getting there. . . 

go spartans! but the right play is the illini. if anyone can convince me otherwise, please do!!!!

 Ya I’m on MSU, they opened as a 1-point favorite, and just like you said “coming off 2 losses” so I just can’t see them losing 3 in a row, especially at home.

You’ve made valid points in your write-up.

They’ve been successful against Illinois in last year’s games. It just seems too easy to bet Illinois on this one.
