The easiest sports to cash in on IMO
1 - MLB - you have to be willing to bet on teams that are not only -170 but also +200. Most aren't and that is why they hate it. Scared $$ never wins.
2 - Pre conf coll hoops - A person who soaks in all there is to know about the make up of teams can really clean up early. Once you get to conf play the oddsmakers catch up.
3 - Coll football - for same reasons as NCAABB.
4 - NFL - Lines are tightest of any sport. You really have to pick your spots. sometimes you can bet no full games only 2nd halfs.
5 - NBA - as was said earlier there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when these guys are going to play. The refs "shape" too many games. Having said that bet on any team missing a marquee player is and always has been an $$ maker.
Football is the hardest to win at because of the scoring system.
Six / Seven points for a touchdown on 1 play.
It takes a series of plays to lose in all the other sports. don't get me wrong those buzzer beaters and free throws result in many 1/2 point heartbreakers.
But a Tony Romo interception vs Wash in his own end in the last minutes of the game where you are down by 3 with the ball and getting 4 pts, and 9 with a teaser, results in a TD and loss on both wagers is criminal. Yes this is sour grapes especially after covering both wagers the whole game until that point.
The same script developed the following week Sea vs Wash. Wash covering the whole game even after falling behind in the 4th, but the RG3 fumble on the bad snap in his own red zone was depressing.
yes, I had the wrong side in both games, shame on me.
Football is the toughest.
In basketball it takes many plays to be able to cover a double digit spread.
Just my opinion.
