@Ktmike
I’m a throwback … .25% of my roll is a unit… I stick to that with occasional half unit and up to 3 unit plays.
it’s the most important thing for me and other degenerates lol… to stick to the plan and not sway or chase. Hell I did it this past weekend on the Chiefs. Stupid JJ lost 3 units and 5.2 for the week
After all the decades I’ll still chase occasionally and it’s always dumb AF.
Taking a step further. Props and parlay, fun pizza wagers I make .2 of a unit. I’ll also throw in that if you handicap year round, it’s important to keep your bankrolls separate
much easier to track and succeed imo.
Have a great season …Jj

My initial deposit to start the BB season is 300 (bankroll is way bigger, that way i limit myself from doing dumb shit)
My bets start off small 15-30 bucks, once i build up my roll then obviously my bet sizing increases
If i get over $1000 , i will cash out and leave at least $500 in (sometimes more depends on how much i won that week), that helps with my bankroll management, so i dont start chasing and betting large and lose all profit from being a dumb ass
But i do usually wait to cash out sunday nights/monday morning so its possible my roll can get well over 1k .. up almost 800 just yesterday(last few weeks its been really nice)
Cashing out helps with me not getting greedy and dont chase as much

Over the decades I've come to a conclusion that the two most important keys with bankroll (BR) management are, in order:
1/ one's confidence level in any given bet, based on a consistent track record over hundreds of picks,
2/ the "risk of ruin" calculations (bet amounts) resulting from that consistent track record
There is a large consensus among the skilled handicappers online & books that consistently winning bettors would/should optimize their results with staking bets usually in the 2% - 4% range of one's bankroll (per unit)
Generally, with a consistent track record of HIGH WIN % (ie, 60%+) then one can afford to risk a much higher percentage of BR (optimizing payoff) without increasing the risk of ruin compared with those bettors whose win% is significantly lower.
Those who cannot honestly demonstrate to themselves they are consistent winners, would have a significantly increased "risk of ruin" betting in that range
so in that case, the highly recommended consensus suggests they bet no more than 1.0% of bankroll (per unit)
.......and I would add that if one cannot prove to himself that he is a consistent winning (W/L) bettor year over year (ie, skilled in the specific sport) then one should seriously re-examine motives for sports-betting at all. Gambling addiction could be a real concern.
Or maybe just bet $5 for a little fun to make a game more interesting.

"Staking" bets ......perhaps not my best choice in wording. "Staking" meant as a verb, akin to "filling" bets or "submitting" bets....but I should've just left out the word "staking" and the intended meaning is the same.

Simple old fashioned style, never play teasers or parlays,no matter how much one game sticks out limit that play in my case is $200, don’t play more than 2-3 per day, and also join multiple books to shop for the best odds on the game you like

Bet with knowledge( research) and wager either a consistent same amount or more /less depending on your confidence level.
If you successfully 'hammer' a wager, enjoy, take some out and be methodical.
