Clemson clearly a much superior squad. Although how bummed will they be after being snubbed by the committee? Wouldn't you be?!
That's always the unknown in these types of matchups.
#1 seed Rutgers were upset yesterday - although the disparity between them and Hofstra was so much closer than Morehead/Clemson. Still the motivation issue looms very large.
Personally I never like choosing a heavy fav to cover a DD line nor the visiting dog, anyway.
As for possible in-game strategy, in this one, even if heavy fav Clemson was to fall behind on a random early run by the Eagles, I would NOT be inclined to grab the Tigers until I can settle the Q about their motivation first. In that event I would likely wait to see how they bust out of the halftime break for the early 2H minutes for defining clues.

And there's yet another issue: possible opt-outs announced just before tip!.....or unexpected lineup deletions by Brownell, believing they should win anyway and he wants to allow another couple days to rest a key player. All possibly unknown until pregame warmups.... just never know..... a fact that stunned me yesterday in Washington State....ughh! And in the MICHIGAN game I had no idea #2 scorer, Howard, would be held out!!!

For me, this game is a PASS

An honest mistake, given the very rare situation in the NIT where a #1 seed is NOT the home team.

That game is being played in Youngstown and the powerful Cowboys are still the road favs over a weaker opponent.

  *INJURY NOTE:

    Tonight, Oregon Mighty Ducks may be WITHOUT their top 2 players!
#2 scorer, Cousinard, is definitely out, according to Covers injury report.
And
#1 scorer and top rebounder, 6'11" Dante, is a gt decision (ankle)

For that reason, I recommend holding off on any bets....

And now I read where top scoring guard for the Buffaloes (K.Simpson) was held out of last night's 1 pt nailbiter over Seton Hall. Was this on the injury reports all day yesterday?? 

Or a last minute dropout??

#1 seed and fav, Oklahoma State, *is* the road FAV at Youngstown

     ~ and ~

#2 seed and dog!, Sam Houston, *is* the road dog at Santa Clara.

My rankings: #107 @#64 (subjective adjustment for loss of Cousinard)

**Tonight, Oregon Mighty Ducks may be WITHOUT their top 2 players!
#2 scorer, Cousinard, is definitely out, according to Covers injury report.
And
#1 scorer and top rebounder, 6'11" Dante, is a gametime decision with a bad wheel.
These two are the reason the line dropped 2 pts but personally, if Dante is OUT also, then Oregon should be home favs by no more than -4.5

The mighty DUCKS are very good in Eugene, yes (and assuming they are motivated, which they might not be) but as we witnessed yesterday when Washington State's all-everything TOP REBOUNDER was unexpectedly pulled just before tip, losing a top rebounder seriously affects the ability for teammates to score, as well as losing all his points as the #1 scorer!......So I think an under might be seriously considered - but only AT PREGAME WARMUPS! Currently unmoved at 145.5/146

The uncertainty surrounding player status makes this an automatic PASS, except possibly for an under if DANTE is also out but the line fails to drop more than 1.5 pts!

UCF Knights @FLORIDA Gators

My ratings: #79  @#75(adjusted for loss of top player)

Waaaaaay to close for me to call.
Can effectively toss out all Gator's scores & records prior to Feb 16 because that is when their standout BEST player, 6'11" Castleton, was lost to injury. Only the games after that are of any interest to me for capping. And it's a mixed bag.

Plus Gators may be depressed from losing by a single point to Miss.St. in OT - whereupon a win - and they had multiple chances to win it - would have put them in the Tournament. So motivation could be an issue tonight.

And I am skittish now about betting a HOME FAV when - particularly at this time of year - players may be held out or opt out.

Except for Castleton, no apparent injuries/opt-outs to either team.....so far!

This one is a wait and see "coin-flipper" imo (without Castleton) and only possibly an ingame bet on either squad depending on flow, fouls, and other boxscore metrics.

No mystery here.  Significant edge here to the Ka-Boys - hence the spread as a road fav.
Anderson still out for OSU but not significant imo, as they've played well w/o him since Feb 1.

My concern is OSU motivation when West Va - who had a worse conf record - gets in but OSU is left out of the DANCE and relegated to the NIT.
And possibly some unforeseen lineup change from OSU later.....maybe....who knows

No significant injuries to either team....that we know of.

So this is another one I will wait to see the pregame warmups at least, but likely holdoff and look for opportunities for ingame bets.

Both teams pleased to have a post season opportunity!
*BUT*.... since N.Texas is such a heavy DD fav, likely to win even if they rest a key player -- WATCHOUT for that actual possibility in the pregame warmups!! Could be one of those unannounced surprises until the last minutes before tip. This happened in at least 3 games yesterday!! If they do sit a key starter for whatever reason, then obviously an underdog spread cover becomes a live issue.

Tonight, no apparent injuries/opt-outs to either team.....so far!

Regardless, I wouldn't risk a bet on either of these before pregame warmups.
