No, it may be some short term variance that your seeing but oddsmakers set a line and then the market or non market moves it to a true or fair line.  However, they know the teams which are bet more hence creating an edge or favorable line.  It's our job to determine where that edge lies and beat the closing line.  I tried to wait out the rush on UCLA but was literally 5 minutes away from receiving 10 or more and instead have 9.5.  Tons of models out there and extremely tight some nights.  I use Pinnacle closing lines to determine my line value.  It's tough enough to predict winners, but when you don't have the best line bought, it even stretches your margin of error even more.  It's like having a total of 9 on blackjack and the dealer showing a 6 and you don't double down.  You may win the hand but you lost the opportunity to maximize your profit by not doubling your wager..
