Eskies were listed as 3 point favorites which suggests 3 points for home field advantage---
Simply put this game is very simple---
Saskatchewan is a much better football team. There is no comparison here. Ex- Edmonton should have beat BC by 2 td's but lost in BC by turnovers 6 of them and stupid play---
Saskatchewan has a better Defense- they are road warriors also, they don't get scored on much on the road-- However that could change so that is irrelevant--
Saskatchewan has the better running game also-- Sask is much better on special teams---
Special teams cost the Eskimos 21 points last game- blocked punt td, return td and 2 fumbles on punt returns--
Saskatchewan does not make mistakes and rarely turns the ball over-- They run the ball and have run through every team except for last week vs CGY---
If Edmonton stops CATES, SASK is in trouble, their QB is horrible and cannot beat a team by himself-- Cates gets between 5 and 8 on first down most of the time, putting SASK in easy 2nd down conversions--
The only area that Edmonton is better is Passing the BALL--
The QB and receivers are better for EDM-- Sask has 2 receivers Corey Grant and Micheal Palmer who will get no separation and are playing due to injuries-- Sask has just Bowman and Washington and Dressler to throw to--
Edmonton if they give their QB time he will find a open receiver most of the time--
What concerns me is that SASK has had a perfect season- got all the turnovers, got all the lucky bounces, all the plays to win games- Last game vs CGY it showed, u stop their run and they will not score much-- They had 5 points near the end of the 3rd qtr-
I do know that EDMONTON will commit to stopping the run and can probably do it pretty good. Their secondary has athletes even though at times they seem to lose focus---
I was impressed from the game vs BC overall with Edmonton as a team-- This game will be contigent on the Edmonton O line, which can give their QB time to throw, he will find open receivers--
Edmonton was very close in the first game vs SASK but did not score in the red zone. Lately they have been scoring in the red zone a lot more--
SASK has had the perfect season, and I dont think you can take them relying on them to do what they have each week in this game-
-They would have to run the ball and have great success--
-Not turnover the ball at all
-Force turnovers and stifle the opposing teams offense--
When I look at SASK I think they were playing on a lucky streak and it is due to come crashing down to reality-- This team's over unders for wins was like 7 wins in that area--
Edmonton is expecting 50,000 fans and they always play good at home- they are 3-0 with wins over Toronto, BC, and CGY already-
SASK has the ability to definitely struggle in this game on offense- This I am pretty sure that with relying on the run so heavily, if they are forced to pass, I dont see them moving the ball very well--
Edmonton has done well in every game on offense, last game RAY was very sharp---
Sask struggles historically in EDMONTON--
Sask better D-
better special teams
better coaching
better kicking game-
Usually this would result in me taking the above team, but however in a passing league, with an old washed up QB, he is about to get smoked in some games. Marcus Crandell last week was horrible vs CGY. He had 5 points and threw a ball in double coverage that was tipped by both Db's and the Sask receiver caught for a Td and then they scored some late points in that one as CGY had shut their OFFENSE down--
SASK also scored 25 points in the last game in the 2nd half of that game--
SASK wins with their attitude on the road, and they fluster the QB's like Jarios JACKSON and Henry BURRIS, however RAY does not get flustered and is impossible to rattle--
I am expecting EDMONTON to make a statement here and play better on special teams, and overall and the D to shut down CATES, and then the Offense will take over--
