Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.

Spread analysis

The Argos return home after beating the Roughriders to record their second-straight double-digit win. Last Sunday’s 31-21 victory was far from dominant, however, with penalties, turnovers, questionable coaching choices, and injuries to starting tackles Trevon Tate and Dejon Allen leading to a muddled start.

By the end of the third quarter, the injury-ravaged Riders owned a 21-14 lead, before the Boatmen reeled off 17 points in the final quarter to get the win.

Toronto’s defense stepped up to hold off Saskatchewan in the fourth quarter, while the Argos drove 79 yards on nine plays, ending with a five-yard touchdown catch by Cam Phillips to tie the game 21-21.

Toronto’s defense then forced a two-and-out, and the Argos stormed down the field for a field goal to go up by three with 47 seconds remaining. Special teams then sealed the deal with a forced fumble returned for a score to get the 31-21 win.

The Redblacks had as rough of a finish as the Riders did against Toronto. Entering the fourth quarter with a 26-25 lead against the Alouettes, Ottawa surrendered two quick touchdowns to the East’s second-place team to suffer its 17th loss in the last 19 games.

The Redblacks’ road record is now 2-14 in their last 16 away games and to make matters worse, Ottawa has lost eight of its last nine against the Argos, including five straight in Toronto.

The last meeting between these two, in 2021, was a close 23-20 decision in Ottawa, but otherwise, Toronto has had its way, winning by an average of 17.6 points over the last five and covering the spread in four straight meetings at home.

Prediction: Argonauts -5.5 (-110 at DraftKings)

Over/Under analysis

The Argos have averaged 34 points against Ottawa over their last five matchups, but the Over is 3-2 in that period.

The Under is 5-1 in Toronto’s last six games following a straight-up win, and it has hit four of five times in the Redblacks’ last five against teams with a winning record. The Under is also 9-3 in the Redblacks’ last 12 games overall.

Backup Redblacks quarterback Caleb Evans accounted for 52 rushing yards and a pair of scores on the ground in Ottawa’s loss last week and went 25-of-40 passing for 297 yards against a bottom-half defense in Montreal.

Toronto ranks third in the league in yards allowed per game (354) and gives up just 84 rushing yards per contest. The Redblacks, on the other hand, rank second to last in rushing yards allowed (113.7), so Harris will likely get plenty of work in the ground game on Sunday night, helping keep the score Under 47.5.

Prediction: Under 47.5 (-110 at DraftKings)

Best bet

Ottawa failed to surpass the 17-point mark in its first two games of the season before tallying 31 in a three-point defeat in Week 4 to the BC Lions. The following week, the Redblacks managed just 13 points against Saskatchewan, the best run defense in the league.

Facing another top run-stop unit should stifle Ottawa and dual-threat Evans, who has five rushing scores through the last four games.

The Redblacks have averaged 16.6 points per outing in their last five against Toronto and have exceeded the 20-point mark just once in that timeframe.

Look for Toronto to make life difficult at BMO Field and extend the Redblacks’ losing streak with a dominant defensive effort.

Pick: Redblacks team total Under 20 (-106 at FanDuel)
