BC has finally found its footing on both sides of the ball, and Nathan Rourke & Co. are getting too many points to pass up on Thursday night.

A pivotal battle in the West Division sees the BC Lions hit the road as 5.5-point underdogs against the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday.

Coming off consecutive wins against Winnipeg and Hamilton, my Lions vs. Stampeders predictions expect BC to keep their foot on the pedal heading into McMahon Stadium.

Let's dive further into our CFL picks for Aug. 13, with kickoff set for 9 p.m. ET on TSN.

Who will win Lions vs Stampeders: Lions +5.5 (-110)

I took the BC Lions at +5.5 earlier in the week, and I’m comfortable playing them down to a field goal.

Initially staring down the barrel of a disastrous season, the Lions have won two straight and are finally getting healthy, with just four players listed on their injury report this week.

CB1 Garry Peters is set to make his season debut after starting the year on the six-game IL. At the same time, Nathan Rourke didn’t miss a beat in his return under center last week, throwing for 370 yards and two touchdowns against Hamilton while turning the ball over just once — and he'll also have slotback Stanley Berryhill III back in the lineup, who has been sidelined since Week 3.

Rourke & Co. will have plenty of opportunities to torch a Calgary Stampeders defence that has surrendered 33.0 points per game, including a league-worst 21 completions of 30+ yards through the air

Lions vs Stampeders total prediction: Over 63.5 (-112)

While BC’s defence has really found its form, it’s still running into an elite Calgary offence, with quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. and running back Dedrick Mills spearheading a unit that’s averaging a CFL-best 35.0 points per game.

Meanwhile, Calgary’s D is allowing 7.25 yards per play, with only winless Ottawa allowing more. The Over has cashed in five straight meetings between these two Western rivals, and I expect another shootout on Thursday night.

Playable to 64.5 in the latest CFL odds.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Calgary’s discipline — or lack thereof — has been a major issue for Dave Dickenson’s club, with the Stamps entering Week 11 having committed the most penalties in the league (83). Meanwhile, BC has been the least-penalized team, amassing just 45 flags.

Lions vs Stampeders same-game parlay

Before falling to Calgary in Week 4, BC had won four consecutive meetings against the Stampeders, winning three of them by double digits.

When Rourke and Adams both grace the same field, expect offensive fireworks from start to finish.
