Who will win Chantelle Cameron vs Mikaela Mayer: Chantelle Cameron (+185)

Mayer is a slick boxer, but she tends to struggle when physical opponents cut off the ring and force her to fight in the pocket. Cameron’s victory over Katie Taylor proved she can apply intelligent pressure and force elite boxers into uncomfortable exchanges. Although Cameron is arguably undersized at 154 pounds, Mayer isn't a natural super welterweight either. I believe Cameron has the deeper, nastier bag of tricks to drag Mayer into the wrong kind of fight and score the upset.

Chantelle Cameron vs Mikaela Mayer best bet: Cameron to win by decision (+285)

BEST BET
Cameron to win by decision (+285)
Bet now at DraftKings

Cameron by decision is my best bet. Neither fighter has scored a stoppage in years, and both are competing above the divisions where they did their best work. Cameron needs to keep the fight close, use her physicality, and smother Mayer’s activity with her infighting. The two-minute rounds should also limit opportunities for either fighter to accumulate enough damage for a stoppage. With Cameron fighting in Birmingham, I like the underdog to edge enough of the close rounds to earn a decision.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Cameron and Mayer have combined for just 13 knockouts across 45 professional victories, while neither woman has recorded a stoppage since 2017.

Cameron to win and Under 1.5 knockdowns is my favorite prop. Neither woman has been stopped professionally, and with the fight contested over two-minute rounds, I don't expect many opportunities for either fighter to accumulate enough damage to score multiple knockdowns. Cameron doesn't need to hurt Mayer to pull the upset; she needs to pressure her, smother her activity, and win the exchanges at close range.

Chantelle Cameron vs Mikaela Mayer odds

DraftKings
Method of Victory Chantelle Cameron Mikaela Mayer
To win outright +185 -240
To win by KO/TKO +900 +800
To win by points or decision +285 -160

Odds as of August 28.

The market favors Mayer at -240, with her decision prop priced at -160, while both fighters carry long odds to score a stoppage. That supports my expectation of a tactical fight that reaches the scorecards, but I disagree with which fighter gets her hand raised. At +285, Cameron by decision offers considerably more value if her pressure and infighting can disrupt Mayer’s preferred pace.

Chantelle Cameron vs Mikaela Mayer tale of the tape

Mayer is slightly taller, but Cameron owns the longer reach and has shown more finishing power with eight knockouts compared to Mayer’s five. The biggest difference comes in their signature performances. Mayer has been competitive at the championship level, but Cameron owns a victory over Katie Taylor and arguably deserved better in their rematch.
