IDF acting in self defence by shooting a US/Tyrkish citizen 4 times in the head and one time in the chest.

When you put yourself in a position to be shot, sometimes you are. Not sure why you think this is a story. Please link your outraged posts for all missiles bombarding Israel from Gaza, literally thousands and thousands. Do you care about those deaths?

Little ladies going to the store
Kids riding bikes

Not religious fanatics transporting weapons, running blockades and sponsoring terrorism.

Please also link your clamor for 50+ deaths on the sunken South Korean vessel.

Why were they so aggressive when the Israelies boarded the ship?

My guess would be that they wanted a confrontation, a media stunt.

Most people wouldn't act aggressive in that situation.

A blockade may be imposed at sea, including in international waters, so long as it does not bar access to the ports and coasts of neutral states. This is directly stated in Section IV, Article 10 of the ICRC.

You got to be joking right. To me this is comparable with ships fighting off pirates in Somali waters. Israel had not right to board the ships in international waters and it is understandable why they would try and repel the attack.

Does that justify a US citizen being shot 4 times in the head and one time in the stomach.... sounds pretty much like murder.

Knowing Israels track record with using disproportional force in engagements  (rocks against guns) it is not difficult to believe many innocent people where murdered here.

International Humanitarian law, and the Geneva convention both back up Israel. Link

I am not saying that the Blockade is good, or justified, or even moral, but I am saying as a recognized multinational blockade they acted within their jurisdiction as per the above documents, and unless there is some other court besides the court of public opinion that I do not know about I would love to hear why this action was illegal.

the force used by the Israeli commandos was proportionate to that of the attackers on the ship. 

This is a situation where we can let our biases get the better of us, I am trying to be objective and say that there is no binding naval law that was broken.

So it is a matter of the legitimacy of the blockade?

there is some contention, about the law of blockade, but most of the people agree that it is legal, since it does not interfere with neutral ports, which is one of the only designations.

What we are seeing here is that there is a clear argument that aid can not get through. 

I will have to further research Israel's policy, if they let aid ships through once they are sufficiently searched. 

the red hand in all of this is the fact that this specific ship announced that it was not stopping for the blockade, they deliberately tried to evade it and were hostile when boarded by troops trying to enforce the blockade.

Israel is on the right side of the law, but in the future this incident could prove to be beneficial to Palestinians, as it draws question not so much to legality but to the morality of the blockade.

They illegally boarded a ship in international waters.

The people onboard probably felt their lives were in danger and acted accordingly in trying to defend themselves and people on the boat. They werent using guns or anything, they had little weapons that were useless against the Israeli armies guns and helicopter.

They knew they would be in danger when giving aid but they still risked their lives knowing the danger. They were providing humanitarian aid and the Israeli army acted out of line and not within international law.
