Lots of returning young talent they were developing last year, and those youngster's got a lot of experiance.
Returning
Curry - Stud PG who has a great shot, great handle and great range. Was a starter last year, only will get better
Efejuku - Very athletic guard with a shot and lots of hop, can defend the best. came off the bench last year only will get better
Kale - big body guy who can rip boards and contorl the paint, was a starter last year, only will get better.
Mcdermott - another big body guy to compliment kale in the paint, this guy can score, started last year only will get better.
Williams & Mckenzie - guards with nice shots, both played last year as freshman, could be a break out season for them this year.
They played a lot of players last year and this will pay off big time for them this year, lots of young talent on this team with experiance, this team will come into the season with a chip on their shoulder after maybe beind snubbed last year by the NCAA selection crew, should be a great year for this team as they return to the tourney.

<------ Season ticket holder.... and believe me, the most exciting I've been about this team in years. The next two years are pretty much do or die for Welsh's job.....

Wow
VERY SURPRISED BY THIS POST

They added Jeff Xavier and Randall Hanke is coming back after redshirting last year.
Xavier averaged about 16, 17 ppg for Manhattan two years ago, including 30 against Maryland in an NIT game. He can light up the scoreboard and is just the kind of player (SHOOTER) this team lacked last year.
Hanke was very solid inside... looks awkward as fuck and is pretty damn scrawny, but damn sure knows how to score. SCored 13 ppg in 21 mpg as a sophmore... Should be a decent replacement of Herbert Hill.
Can't wait for them to start the season off in Puerto Rico in about 6 weeks.
Oh ya, one more thing.... They are rebuilding the Dunkin Donuts Center and all of a sudden, they had a huge home court advantage last year for the first time in a while... only lost two games all year at home (Brown and Syracuse). There adding even more renovations and so its going to be selling out alotta home games and I'd be very surprised if they lost any home games this year....

Stanley was on the team last year and coming out of high school he was one of the most highly sought after talents. He should do well this year but he is not going to be in the same category as past UConn greats: Rudy Gay, Ben Gordon, Ray Allen, Okafor, Butler.

Go on vacation for a long weekend and things happen..... Sharaud
Curry, the leading returning scorer at Providence College, broke his
foot in a team workout last week. He'll miss six weeks and may not be
ready for the team's first game Nov. 15 against Temple in Puerto Rico.
Without Curry, coach Tim Welsh will have to dig into his deep stable of
backcourt talent to run the team. Sophomore Dwain Williams will no
doubt get the first crack at the starting job but also look for Welsh
to play Weyinmi Efejuku, transfer Jeff Xavier and freshman Marshon
Brooks at the point spot in Curry's absence.
More on the Curry injury in Tuesday's Journal.

I think they'll still be okay without Curry for the first few games... IF he even misses them. The injury happened October 4th, and they say 6 weeks.. which is exactly November 15th, the first game against Temple.
But even if they don't have Curry, Williams filled in pretty good last year from when Curry got suspended 4 games for cheating on a test.
