Vegas mada a huge mistake changing USC score..

Question

All the utah money sitting in the casinos and sitting offshore was cashed out as a win. if you bet 5k on the utah game it went final all you do is walk up to the window and cash the ticket. Now all the usc backers wake up today (hoping they didnt rip up ticket get in a fight in parking lot and get arrested) see the score change and now have to pay BOTH sides of the game....offshore accounts im thinking the same if requested a payout but maybe they cancelled the transaction as it takes long of coarse to get people paid.

Also, paying both sides is not the worst thing a book can do.

1 Most of that money will be gambled back anyways,

2 Half the Utah winners probably didn't cash their tickets in the two hour window when they had a winner

3 Half of the USC tickets were ripped up

4 If you pay both sides, and other books don't, then you will get good word of mouth advertising

The majority USC backers had -10 anyway...they never kick the extra point when time expires in college, so it would not of mattered either way.

Most of the casinos dont acknowledge scoring chages after the fact. Consensus score for grading purposes in LV was 17-14.

I think Hilton and Cantor graded it 23-14, everyone else 17-14. Different rules for different books.

I agree, Despite being benefitting in this case I dont like the idea of scores being changed later.  The gambling business is already shady enough.

I had Utah second half and it turned from a win to a loss.

Why have rules? The official called the game exactly by the book and someone lost big money and decided to change the score!!!

Big money always influences outcome in life. Sporting is no different. We just have to be on the right side.
