Interesting Rumor out of Athens Georgia

This rumor is gaining a lot of strengh and it fits the situations:

Georgia Defensive Coordinator Willie Martinez is heading to Memphis as head coach in 2010; It's rumored that he will be replaced by Defensive Guru Dick Bumpas, Bumpas has engineered the top ranked TCU defense.

As a Georgia Fan I can only hope its true

I am Georgia fan as well. This may be the best possible replacement I have heard. I pray that it is true.

It's going to be hard to get any harder confirmation than what the "very qualified" sources are now saying. TCU is in run for BCS game; they can't say much now???  UGA probably won't say anything until after GT game at the end of November....  but it fits nicely.....

why would Memphis hire Martrinez as their HC?

CMR is going to fire him @ the end of season. Actually surprised he made it through last year!

Memphis can do much better than Willie Martinez

Even with Martinez as your DC going head to head with Malzhan (which on paper is a total mismatch) I think the DAWGS r  the best play on the BOARD this week n CFB

I heard Charlie Strong's name mentioned as a possibility - on one hand I don't want to see him leave but I think he deserves a shot somewhere and he can recruit in the southeast which Memphis needs.

the rumor comes from a source that I know and trust.... so call it what you want; Geogia will have new DC next year; and THAT IS NO RUMOR.....
