***NFL WEEK 8 PLAYS***

Looking down the spreads for week 8 & im seeing a few games I like. 

(49ers +12.5), Yes, I will buck the trend of the best teams covering the double digit spread but imo, giving the defensive 49ers 12.5 points is too many. Colts are playing great right now & are sitting at 6-0 SU & 5-1 ATS, covering their last 5 games. The 49ers are 3-3 SU & 4-2 ATS. The 49ers started out the season good & played the Vikings tough & should have won that game but Favre pulled out the miracle td in the end. The 49ers last Sunday were down 21-0 at the half vs the Texans & Shaun Hill got benched for his dismal play & they brought in Alex Smith which gave them life & actually gave the 49ers something I didnt think they had on offense, a chance to come from behind & win but in the end, they lost a close one. I was really suprised on how well Smith drove the offense down the field. The Colts havent faced a half decent defense except for Miami in week 2 but Manning pulled it off in the final minutes. The 49ers will need to hold on to the ball & not turn it over if they want to win this game. I believe the 49ers will do enough on defense & offense to stay inside the number. The Colts should win this game but I like the 49ers for the cover!

Observation: When I saw the Chargers open up -13.5 over Oakland & jump to -16.5 in a matter of hours, I knew Vegas doesnt want to make the same mistake they did last week but my question is this....What have the Chargers done to become such big favorites? I know why the Colts & Pats are & I also know how bad the Raiders are but 16.5 points in a division game is alot, especially from a Chargers team!

Observation: The Broncos are 6-0 SU & ATS & are underdogs once again.....I just dont get it! I know the Broncos are due for a loss & I actually see one coming on Monday night in 2 weeks when they play the Steelers but the Ravens should be homedogs in this spot. The Ravens are coming off their bye week so im assuming the odds makers are giving them the benefit of the doubt. I will have a play on this game later in the week.

(Philly -?),  Philly got a win vs the pathetic looking Skins on Monday night but McNabb did not impress me at all. Maybe he didnt want to show much on national tv & hold some back for the Giants game. Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson was very impressive in getting the 2 td's. The Eagles defense looked great but to beat the Giants, the Eagles will have to throw the ball down field. With Westbrook questionable with a concusion, I am assuming there will be alot more passing vs the Giants. The Eagles were trying to run some kind of wildcat offense vs the Skins & it didnt work out that well. The Giants have lost 2 in a row & will be looking to bounce back after losing to the Cardinals Sunday night. The Cards offense looked good vs the Giants defense. The Giants played 2 big games back to back & the game vs the Saints took alot out of them. The Giants will play a physical game vs the Eagles this week & then have the Chargers at home before going into a bye week. Philly lost to a pathetic Raiders team & imo, they were probably looking ahead to the 3 games coming up that include their division. The Eagles beat the Skins handily, they have the Giants this week which I believe they will win & cover & then have the Cowboys next week here at home. These next 2 games are huge for all 3 teams. The Giants are 5-2 on top of the division, followed by the Eagles & Cowboys tied for 2nd with 4-2. This is a HUGE game for Philly & the Giants! I can see people saying, the Giants wont lose 3 in a row.....I just hope McNabb doesnt make any stupid mistakes, with that being said, go Eagles!

Baltimore Secondary isn't very good. I really think Denver wins this game SU, just like they have the last 3 games as 3-4 point dogs. The one thing that travels well in the NFL is Defense.

I like the GMen at Philly. I work with a guy who is a huge philly fan and he picked NYG as his pick next week. THe only shot the Eagles have is if they don't play michael vick. it is obvious that isn't working. they should have traded him to Buffalo for TO.

I was just commenting on Whosdey comment that Baltimore shouldn't be a favorite over Denver....Not saying I'm playing Baltimore yet!

Denvers D-line is SERIOUS.  I have seen any offense that can pass given 0.5 seconds to throw the ball......

Nice hit on MNF...I am not feeling the Philly -3 against a pretty dang good Giants team on back/back/? losses.

For Philly to win this game, they are going to need a healthy Westbrook. If WB is a no go for the Iggles, than Giants IMHO should be the right call. I would check the status of WB this week and make sure he's going to play. Like you said, McGrib didn't look too good and he didn't.

(Texans -3),  The Texans come into this game at 4-3, 2nd behind the Colts in their division & the Bills at 3-4, 3rd in their division. The Bills are coming off back to back road dog upset winners to the Jets & Carolina. The Texans have won 3 of their last 4 games & seem to play better ball on the road....2-1 on the road & had a chance to tie up Zona with seconds remaining but Zona stopped them cold on the 1 yard line. Bills seem to play better on the road also but are 1-2 at home. Injuries: Texans: Receiver Andre Johnson has a bruised lung & is day to day, Kicker Kris Brown has an ankle injury but is probable, Mario Williams (shoulder) & is probable, Bernard Pollard is sick but is probable.  Bills: Qb Trent Edwards (concussion) & is out for next weeks game, Bryan Scott (ankle) is questionable, Terrell Owens is probable after hearing about his knee, Corey  McIntyre (ankle) is questionable. Their are key injuries on both teams. The Bills have a bye coming up after this game but the Texans play the Colts on the road  the following week. I dont think the Texans over look the Bills in this spot. The Texans need this win because they know its gonna be hard to get a win on the road in Indianapolis.

Texans -3 (-125)  $625 to win $500

Adding:

(Dallas in a teaser),  The Boys beat a decent Falcons squad at home off a bye week while Seattle was on a bye. The Boys are 2-1 SU at home this season with that loss coming at the hands of the Giants by 2 points in week 2 on Sunday night & 4-2 over all. The Seahawks are 2-4 SU & 0-2 on the road. The Seahawks played lousy at home vs the Cards before the bye week & im sure they heard about it all week during the bye. Injuries, Dallas: DeMarcus Ware (foot) & is probable (he better play with the contract he just signed), Felix Jones (knee) probable, Marion Barber (quad/thumb) is probable, Roy Williams (ribs) is probable. Seattle: Didnt find any. I think the bye wee will help Seattle but not enough to win this game. Dallas have the Eagles next week on the road & will try to get out of this game with no major injuries. Imo, the Cowboys can cover the 9.5 but with Seattle fresh off the bye week & Dallas having Philly on deck, I will put Dallas in a 3 team 10 point teaser.

Dallas +1/2, 49ers +22.5, Texans +7  ($600 to win $500)

I see this now at bookmaker & the moneyline is down to +110  thats some serious money on the Giants.

I cant believe I laid -3 (-125) on the Eagles when it went down to -2.5 (-110) 5 minutes after I placed my bet, I feel like I lost too much value & the game didnt even start yet. As for the Colts, they have 3 straight home games, the 49ers, Houston & finally the Patriots. I dont see them getting in a physical game with the 49ers or the Texans. They dont want major injuries before playing the Pats so I see a win but no cover the next 2 weeks.

Dont get it twisted the Defense is Nice. Very Nice but they havent  faced a good team on the road yet and this is there 1st road game they play against a good Defense that can put pressure and run with them in the offense.

Orton had all the time in the world when he played against SD. He will have a Fast Dline going after him and Balt reminds me of the pats last year on how they finish 11-5 and didnt make it. Here we have a Balt team

Just like last week with giving suckers Pts for Minn game. This is the same exact Game with a smaller spread! it Open at 4 now its at 3.5. 3.

Dont be a fool Orton Shows his true colors this week and if Ball Hawk Dawkins is less then 70% with that Hammy then we have a Shot to attack that middle with HEAP!!!

LTE, nice break down, but havent decided which way to go on this game yet, will have a play on it later this week.

As I've stated, Westbrook status is uncertain and Philly going to need alot of firepower to take down the GMEN who have already lost back/back. Philly is walking into a hornet's nest on a short week too.

Word on the radio is...Texans A. Johnson was submitted to the hospital after the Texan's win cause he was coughing up blood from a big hit during the game against the 49ers. His status is also uncertain for this week.

Thanks for the information but I still think the Texans have too much fire power for the Bills. The odds makers knew about his status before throwing out the line.
