***NFL THURSDAY NIGHT PRIMETIME***

Preseason is finally over & I had a losing record, & lost some money, now lets get to the regular season.
 
Thursday night we have the Super Bowl champs vs the AFC South division champs. A good matchup. Titans finished the regular season 13-3 & Pittsburgh 12-4
 
Titans opened the season with a 10-0 run, now thats amazing for any team to accomplish but the season the Titans had last year wont be duplicated by them this season. The Titans did beat  Pittsburgh last year but the Steelers were coming off a 5 game winning streak & the Titans off a loss & anyone knowing patterns of the NFL know Pittsburgh was in a bad spot. You also had the Titans at 12-2 catching 3 points as a homedog vs the 11-3 Steelers. The Titans will not duplicate last years record. The Steelers imo, will be a better team than they were last year, in fact I believe they will repeat as Super Bowl champs! Albert Haynesworth was a great defensive player for the Titans & he will not be helping them out this season.
 
I see alot of talk of the Titans covering this game. Imo, I see the Steelers winning this game 27-13. Steelers are not getting much respect but are laying 5.5 points. Seems like alot of points to alot people but it seems like a fair line to me.
 
The Super Bowl champs opening up the following year on Thursday night are 5-0 SU & 4-0-1 ATS
 
Im assuming bettors are thinking a fg game, not me, Pittsburgh will handle business opening up at home Thursday night to a rowdy crowd & all those terrible towels will be waving & not stepped on like last year in Tennessee. I wish I could be at this game, Pittsburgh will take care of business & get a win & cover!

Last year the steelers were involved in alot of low scoring games.  Their offense struggled, and their defense dominated.  In games like that I'll take 6 points when i can get them.
Tenn +6 for me!

I hope you are correct, Prime.  I'm a die hard Steelers fan, born and raised in Pittsburgh.  I choose to never wager on Steelers games because i have too much heart for that.  I would rather enjoy the win instead hoping for a late FG to cover however many pts.  I will be at the game this Thursday...look for me on tv.  Ill be wearing a Polamalu jersey and waving a terrible towel. 

From an outside standpoint (if i can try to look at it that way), i'm with you on your thoughts about Steelers covering the spread.  Though i think it will be more low scoring.  Something like 21-10 or maybe even 14-6.  Regardless, good luck this season...I won't promise a Steelers cover.  But i will promise a Steelers win.

I hope im right too, cause it seems I cant pick a damn college game to save my butt. As far as a SU winner in this game, there is absolutely no doubt that the Steelers win this game, but I feel confident that they also cover the number! The terrible towels will be wavin, its gonna be a madhouse in Pittsburgh Thursday night, have fun dude!

Two things that scare me......the 5.5 which passes two critical numbers 3 and 4 (so more THAN LIKELY  you're looking at a td win if you back the steelers) and the second is not yet knowing exactly what we're dealing with Collins (age) . I don't like teasers, but I can't stop thinking about a 6 point tease with Pitt +.5 and over 29. 8 out of last 10 between these two have gone over, and I just can't see Tenn going into Pitt and winning straight up....
Any opinions?????

I for one think that Pittsburgh cant lose this game SU & am confident they cover the spread. I dont like teasing 2 parts in the same game. I would tease Pittsburgh Pk & 49ers +12.5

Thanks Prime. I myself would lay off this game if it were on sunday, but seeing as it the first game oty I have to do something. I'll look into your advice.

You could also take a teaser of Pittsburgh -? 1st half & 49ers +12.5

This Steelers line opened up -4.5 back in June & got bet up pretty fast to -5.5, that was not the public betting it, it was pro bettors.

Good analysis, but your credibility begins to disipate the more and more you show your Steeler colors. Im not bashing, just saying that I think most of the worlds Steeler fans and non Steeler fans (bandwagoners & morons) believe theway you do and that is why the line is inflated. Pitt 24-20.

The line is inflated by 1 pt, the public didnt bet this line from 4.5 to 5.5, the line went up back in June & early July, that was big money from big bettors. The public started to move this line after preseason was over because of perception on how well Pittsburgh plays at home in primetime, also, I am not a Steeler fan, im a fan of money, I never liked any team in the NFL once I started to wager on football back in 1991, just the money they made me, if possible. I also think that 6 points looks way too good, its a trap!
