my first in 30 years or so. I was amazed to see that they don't manufacture "real" skateboard anymore. The boards these days are angled to make flipping the board, and other tricks easier to do. When I was a kid you didn't need a special board to do tricks. My point is that, much like tennis rackets and golf clubs, the hardware has been redesigned to make it easier to succeed.
I think that sucks.

Powell Peralta skull and sword deck, circa 1984 ....cant remember what trucks or wheels i had...Lived in Virginia Beach ,VA during my jr/hs years.....Half pipes hidden in the woods and dimebags of smoke...I never took it real serious like many,basically a mode of transportation in our concrete hoods..But i reaped the benefits of huge calves that is still have today from skateboarding...Went to HS with a kid who went pro, 11 th grade he had a sponser..In 12th grade he got expelled for selling LSD in the bathroom....One day in about 96/97 i saw him on the espn x-games...Sergio Ventura was his name

funny i was in a real nice hood and saw a guy riding a skateboard and i asked him what was up....said he just got a divorce and was bored ....and saw a skateboard at academy sports and just bought it ....somthing he did as a teenager and he was now feeling like one...at that moment ...
