The Los Angeles Dodgers are scary. No team managed to really capitalize on an early-April dip and now they're playing like a well-oiled machine.
MLB odds still favor preseason powerhouses like the Dodgers and Atlanta Braves while the Philadelphia Phillies and AL East stalwarts like the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles are rising in stature.
Let's take a look at the latest World Series odds.
World Series winner odds
Favorites to win 2024 World Series
Los Angeles Dodgers (+300 to +350)
The Los Angeles Dodgers are 8-2 in their last 10 and own baseball's best run differential at +74. They lead the San Diego Padres by 5.5 games in the NL West and are showing no signs of slowing down after an early-season blip brought some concerns to the fore. No more.
Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani are ranked first and third in WAR, respectively — with Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. sandwiched between them — and are the centerpieces for one of the scariest offenses in the land.
And while the rotation is a little shaky due to mounting injuries, they are built well for a postseason series with Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto leading the charge. With Bobby Miller inching closer to a return, Walker Buehler easing into MLB action, and Clayton Kershaw likely back later this summer, that "weakness" could be erased by the time October rolls around.
The Dodgers open a three-game set against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park before hosting the Cincinnati Reds for four games this weekend.
Atlanta Braves (+380 to +470)
After getting swept by the Dodgers in L.A., the Atlanta Braves rattled off four straight wins before dropping their series finale at Citi Field against the New York Mets on Sunday night.
The Philadelphia Phillies (+750 to +1,100) lead them by two games in the NL East standings but the Braves are too good to be faded this early.
Still, Austin Riley left Sunday's game with side tightness. The hope is it's a minor injury, but he could miss a few games either way. But even so, Riley has only three homers on the season and is emblematic of Atlanta's general power outage. Marcell Ozuna has 12 home runs, Travis d'Arnaud has five, and no one else has more than four.
An extended homestand could be just what the doctor ordered as the Braves play seven games at Truist Park over the next week against the Chicago Cubs (3) and San Diego Padres (4).
New York Yankees (+650 to +800)
The New York Yankees are holding steady and most books seem to favor them over the Baltimore Orioles (+550 to +1,300) for the long term.
Part of that may be linked to Gerrit Cole throwing a third bullpen session over the weekend, indicating that the reigning AL Cy Young winner could be nearing a return to game action. New York has the luxury of being able to play it slow with its ace with how well the team has played on the whole thus far. Juan Soto has come as advertised and Anthony Volpe has largely played up to the hype from a year ago.
Oh, and Aaron Judge has arrived with four of his 10 home runs over the last seven games as he continues to heat up along with the weather.
The Yankees play three games against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field before returning to Yankee Stadium to host the Chicago White Sox, who aren't even a Triple-A caliber club.

How to read MLB World Series futures odds
Sportsbooks will post World Series futures as soon as the previous season concludes, and some even sooner. These betting boards are constantly adjusted throughout the winter and ensuing season as players get hurt or are traded. Once the regular season begins, World Series odds will change daily as teams win and lose games, and as more players are injured or traded. Sportsbooks will also adjust the World Series odds based on handle and liability to certain teams.
World Series odds will usually look like this:
- Los Angeles Dodgers +240
This means that on a $100 bet, you'll stand to win $240 if the Dodgers win the World Series. If it's close to the end of the season or MLB has a very dominant team, you could see a minus sign (-) ahead of a team's odds.
- Atlanta Braves -150
This means that if you bet on the Atlanta Braves during the 2020 MLB season, you would have needed to bet $150 to profit $100 if the Braves won the championship.
Above we have posted the American odds for the World Series. However, these are easy to convert to decimal odds or fractional odds with our odds converter tool.

The cash-strapped Florida Marlins entered the 2003 season with +7,500 odds to win it all after finishing four games below .500 the year before. Oddsmakers seemed to be right as the club got off to a sluggish 16-22 start, but a managerial change and some inspired play led to a second half surge and the Fish downed the heavily-favored Yankees in six games in the Fall Classic.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have the best odds to win the 2024 World Series, followed by the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, and Houston Astros.
