Rory Breasail has been a diehard basketball fan since Larry Johnson’s 4-point play in 1999. He’s been writing about basketball for the last decade for outlets including The TwinSpires Edge, NBA Math, and Hashtag Basketball. Rory grew up in Steve Nash’s hometown in Victoria, BC, and now resides across the water in Vancouver, where he does a daily prayer to bring back the NBA. I first started sports betting during the 2020 NBA Bubble playoffs, and I rode the Miami Heat right from their upset against the Milwaukee Bucks all the way to the NBA Finals. Still don’t think I made enough to afford a single Big Face Coffee from Jimmy Butler though.

In those same playoffs, I bet heavily on the Denver Nuggets to stretch their series against the Los Angeles Lakers to six. It was looking pretty good until Anthony Davis briefly transformed into Dirk Nowitzki from deep and hit the buzzer-beater to go up 2-0.
