Don't wait around for the action: Scotland's opening match is primed for plenty of early offense.

Win and you're likely through. That’s the high-stakes reality for Haiti and Scotland as they face off today in Group C action.

This matchup features two evenly matched teams with explosive potential, making the Over a fantastic look for what promises to be a high-scoring battle.

Read on for my Scotland vs. Haiti predictions and key World Cup picks for Saturday, June 13.

Who will win Scotland vs Haiti: Draw (+330)

The gap in quality between the teams is narrower than the market suggests. Outsiders Haiti’s starting lineup includes two English Premier League players (midfielder Jean-Jacques Bellegarde and striker Wilson Isidor) plus plenty of performers who have done well in France’s top two divisions down the years (Johnny Placide, Carlens Arcus, Jean-Kevin Duverne, Josue Casimir).

As favorites, Scotland are under pressure to start with three points before theoretically tougher upcoming fixtures against Morocco and Brazil. They head into the game in good form (6-1-3 in 10 2025/26 fixtures) and will enjoy good support at Boston Stadium.

Still, the expectations will weigh heavily on Scotland manager Steve Clarke and his players during the match as Haiti — way down the World Cup odds listings — refuse to simply stand aside.

Haiti +1.5 (-186) on the spread would be one way to support the dogs. If, like me, you would prefer a higher price, back things to stay level at +330.

 TOp pick

Scotland vs Haiti Over/Under Pick: Over 2.5 (-109)

For both teams, the attacks are better than the defenses. The stats bear this out: six of Scotland’s last eight fixtures have had 3+ goals, for a high average of 3.63 goals per game.

Over 2.5 has landed in eight of Haiti’s 15 fixtures since June last year. The 4-4-2 formation they're expected to use encourages fast, vertical, attacking play and can leave their defense exposed at the other end of the field.

All four pre-tournament friendlies involving Haiti and Scotland had 3+ goals (an average of 4.0 goals per game). Anybody watching those fixtures would have noted defensive flaws across both line-ups, with little time to correct them before this tournament opener.

This is the most winnable group game for both teams, so an open encounter - where the focus will be on winning, rather than merely avoiding defeat - is likely. With a pick ‘em 2.5 line, Overs is the strong selection.

Scotland vs Haiti goal scorer pick

Scott McTominay (+175)

Scott McTominay will operate as the attacking midfielder in Scotland’s 4-2-3-1, or as the midfielder to break out of the trio if their formation is 4-3-3. Should Scotland use a 4-4-2, he will still be given the licence to get forward.

The 29-year-old former Manchester United man scored the second goal in Scotland’s 4-0 final friendly win over Bolivia on June 6. The smart right-footed finish took his tally to three goals in his last six international appearances.

McTominay has scored 26 goals in 75 Italian Serie A and Champions League appearances for Napoli over the past two seasons. He's the player most likely to get on the scoresheet as Scotland look to go deep in the World Cup bracket.

Scotland vs Haiti projected lineup
