Today’s WNBA slate may be sparse, but the Phoenix Mercury taking on the Chicago Sky and the L.A. Sparks at the Minnesota Lynx should provide ample betting opportunities.
Alyssa Thomas, Kamilla Cardoso, and Napheesa Collier have excellent matchups to exploit, and my WNBA picks for June 21 expect the trio to dish, swish, and grab some boards.
WNBA player prop bets for June 21
Thomas o8.5 assists (-110)
Cardoso o7.5 rebounds (-105)
Collier o21.5 points (-130)
Today's best WNBA player props bets
Alyssa Thomas Over 8.5 assists (-110 at DraftKings)
Phoenix Mercury point forward Alyssa Thomas spent some time on the shelf with a calf injury but has returned with a vengeance, and a poor Chicago Sky defense will suffer for it.
Thomas scores, rebounds, and has also dropped 10 or more dimes in three of her previous four since returning to the lineup.
Thomas and the Mercury shooters can exploit the Sky as they allow the most made threes (10.3) with the worst defensive field goal percentage in the game.
That bad defense is responsible for allowing the 10th-most assists (21) and points per game (86.3). Phoenix is beginning to score more consistently, and Thomas should find enough wide-open shooters to dish nine dimes today.
Kamilla Cardoso Over 7.5 rebounds (-105 at DraftKings)
The Mercury struggles on the glass. They’ve allowed the 10th-most boards per game, and cleaning the glass on both ends of the floor is where Kamilla Cardoso has excelled.
While Angel Reese gets all the headlines, Cardoso has quietly averaged seven rebounds per game. Three of those boards are on the offensive end, where she’ll get her chances as the Mercury are stout defenders inside and outside the arc, but falter by allowing eight offensive rebounds an outing.
Cardoso has played 25 or more minutes in each of her last three. She’ll likely see at least that many minutes today and has snared a minimum of eight rebounds in five of 11 games this season.
Napheesa Collier Over 21.5 points (-130 at FanDuel)
The last time the Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks met, Lynx forward Napheesa Collier shot 13-for-15 from the field for 32 points.
That’s because the Sparks' defense struggles to contain shooters from anywhere. L.A. allows 44% shooting from inside, 34% from downtown, and 36.5 points per game in the paint.
Collier leads the WNBA in scoring on 52% shooting from the field. MVPhee makes 42% of her four attempts from downtown and 93% of her five attempts from the charity stripe.
The reigning DPOY has scored 22 points or more in four of her previous six, and Los Angeles won’t stop her from clearing her prop number tonight.
