The Los Angeles Sparks are on the outside looking in, so every win counts as they make a final push for the playoffs.

The visiting Phoenix Mercury are jockeying for position atop the WNBA standings, and they’ll be looking for a victory when they visit crypto.com Arena tonight.

My WNBA picks and Mercury vs. Sparks predictions target three player props, including a pair of elite scorers and a plus-money combo prop from Phoenix’s do-it-all forward.

Mercury vs Sparks predictions

My Mercury vs Sparks best betAlyssa Thomas triple-double (+400 at FanDuel)

When it comes to triple-doubles, Alyssa Thomas reigns supreme in the WNBA. She leads the category comfortably all-time with 17, while no other player in history has more than four. Thomas has six triple-doubles this season alone, including one in her last game out.

On the season, Thomas is averaging 16 points, 8.8 rebounds and 9.2 dimes. Over her last nine, she’s scored at nearly the same clip but upped her rebound and assist averages. In that span, she’s averaged 15.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.7 assists while posting five triple-doubles.

Tonight’s matchup couldn’t be more favorable for Thomas. The Los Angeles Sparks have allowed the most points per game this season at 88.5, but they’ve surrendered a gaudy 91.6 across their last 10.

Los Angeles has also allowed the second-most assists this season at 22.1 but given up the most (24.5) over the last 10.

The Sparks defense has actually been more generous at home than on the road, making this an even better matchup for Thomas. On the season, Phoenix and Los Angeles each rank in the top-3 in pace, so there should be plenty of opportunities to score, facilitate and rebound.

The +400 odds offered for this prop at FanDuel are easily the longest among our featured sportsbooks, and I love the value here.

Mercury vs Sparks same-game parlay (SGP)

Alyssa Thomas triple-double

Kahleah Copper 15+ points

Rickea Jackson Over 15.5 points

On the season, Kahleah Copper has scored 15 or more points in 10 of 20 appearances. Over her last 11, she’s averaged 16 points and scored at least 15 seven times. I expect her to keep the hot hand tonight against the W’s most generous defense.

Rickea Jackson scored 25 in her last game out, and she’s been on a roll lately. Over her last nine games, Jackson has averaged 18 points and hit the Over on this line six times.

That includes three of her last four overall and four of five at home. Even against a solid Phoenix Mercury defense, she should have no problem hitting the Over on this scoring line.
