Sabrina Ionescu is in the midst of a three-game slump, but better days are ahead. Over her last three appearances, she’s averaged just 11.7 points per game while shooting 27.5% from the floor and 13.3% from beyond the arc.
Ionescu is averaging a career-best 19.6 points per game this season, and with Breanna Stewart out of action, she’s the New York Liberty’s go-to option on offense. Her recent slump hasn’t been for lack of trying, as she’s attempted 40 shots, including 15 triples, in that span.
Tonight’s matchup with the W’s most generous defense offers a perfect bounce-back opportunity. The Los Angeles Sparks have allowed the most points per game this season at 87.8, and that has jumped to 89.1 over the last 10. Los Angeles also ranks third in defensive rating.
The Liberty boast the W’s fastest pace, and the Sparks rank fourth, meaning there should be plenty of scoring opportunities for Ionescu. She’s averaging 18.6 points per game at home and 20.8 on the road, and she’s scored 20 or more points in 14 of 30 games, including both matchups with the Sparks.
