UFC 330 prelim odds and picks
Jalin Turner vs Kaue Fernandes fight odds
| Method of Victory | Turner | Fernandes |
|---|---|---|
| To win outright | -130 | +105 |
| To win by KO/TKO | +230 | +265 |
| To win by decision | +475 | +475 |
| To win by submission | +475 | +900 |
| Total rounds | Over 1.5 +100 | Under 1.5 -130 |
Odds as of 8-14.
It appears that after a series of setbacks that saw him dabble with retirement, Turner regained his confidence with a crushing first-round knockout win over Edson Barboza last December, and will have a sterner test against Fernandes.
This is a step up in class for Fernandes, who will struggle with Turner’s height and 77-inch reach.
Fernandes is talented enough to make Turner work, but he hasn't faced a striker with Turner's combination of length, power, and finishing instincts. If Turner is dialed in, he’ll have too much firepower for Fernandes, who'll be tempting fate by darting in and out of range to get him out of position.
I expect Turner to eventually catch him during one of those entries. I'm taking Turner by KO/TKO.
Prediction: Turner moneyline (-160 at BET99)
Best Bet: Turner by KO/TKO (+205 at BET99)
Neil Magny vs Ramiz Brahimaj fight odds
| Method of Victory | Magny | Brahimaj |
|---|---|---|
| To win outright | +120 | -145 |
| To win by KO/TKO | +625 | +525 |
| To win by decision | +310 | +575 |
| To win by submission | +640 | +175 |
| Total rounds | Over 2.5 +110 | Under 2.5 -140 |
Odds as of 8-14.
At first glance, this is a tricky fight to pick. Magny remains a reliable competitor at 39, while Brahimaj is a front-runner with questionable cardio who has never won a fight that reached the scorecards.
However, 12 of Brahimaj's 13 victories have come by submission, and Magny is coming off his seventh submission loss after Yaroslav Amosov finished him in the opening round last time out.
Magny may be the better overall fighter, but he's not the better fighter for this matchup. Unless he can survive Brahimaj's early grappling pressure and drag him into deep waters, Brahimaj should be able to work his way inside and put Magny in an all-too-familiar position.
I'm taking Brahimaj by submission.
Prediction: Brahimaj moneyline (-145 at BET99)
Best Bet: Brahimaj by submission (+175 at BET99)
Vicente Luque vs Tresean Gore fight odds
| Method of Victory | Luque | Gore |
|---|---|---|
| To win outright | -105 | -115 |
| To win by KO/TKO | +500 | +375 |
| To win by decision | +315 | +425 |
| To win by submission | +475 | +375 |
| Total rounds | Over 1.5 -160 | Under 1.5 +125 |
Odds as of 8-14.
Although his days of being a top welterweight are behind him, Luque is being overlooked as an underdog against an underdeveloped and inconsistent prospect in Gore.
Gore is the bigger and younger fighter, but he fights like a man without a plan and has failed to maintain any momentum in the UFC. While Luque may have lost a step, he showed in his win over Kelvin Gastelum that he is far from a doormat.
Gore can only win this fight if this turns into a full-on grappling match, which will only happen if Luque allows it.
This is a fight where mind should overcome muscle, as Luque's deeper bag of tricks gives Gore too many problems to solve. I'm backing the veteran by decision for my best bet on the prelims.
Prediction: Luque moneyline (-105 at BET99)
Best Bet: Luque by decision (+375 at BET99)
