Jacksonville State has found its footing with back-to-back wins, and Caden Creel gives the Gamecocks the better quarterback in this matchup. He’s the only FBS QB with 1,100+ passing yards and 300+ rushing yards this season. Add in last year’s CUSA title-game loss to Kennesaw and the stronger defensive profile, and I’m backing JSU to cover the short number.
I like the Under on New Mexico State's team total at 20.5 or better. The Aggies have scored more than 21.5 points in two of their five games, and those two came against an FCS program and a Western Kentucky defense ranked 130th by SP+. FIU has one of the best defenses in the G6, ranked 59th by SP+ and eighth in available yards percentage (33.4%).
The Under is in play for me at 45.5 or better. Not only is weather expected to be an issue, but both of these offenses rank outside the top 95 in success rate. Meanwhile, FIU's defense is one of the best in the Group of Six, ranking fifth in success rate (34.9%).
South Florida is the fourth-lowest scoring team in college football, averaging just FOUR points, while UTSA ranks 47th in first-half scoring at more than 15 points per game. I expect the Roadrunners to cover 4.5 points, but if that wonky number worries you, take UTSA to win the first half.
Don’t let South Florida’s top-10 scoring defense fool you, as the Bulls have faced a soft schedule. This matchup should be a wake-up call against a Roadrunners offense that can attack on the ground. While UTSA’s run defense has been vulnerable, much of that damage came against Texas and Texas State.
I'd play the Over on Florida State's team total at 27.5 or better. The Seminoles are averaging 33.2 PPG and have gone Over 27.5 in four of five games. They have one of the best run games in the country (12th in EPA per rush), and Louisville has allowed Over 27.5 points in all four of its FBS games.
With how poorly these defenses have looked at times this season, this should be a shootout, and I'd play the Over at 60.5 or better. Louisville is top 25 nationally in offensive success rate (49.7%), but its defense is 73rd in success rate (44.3%). Florida State's offense is eighth nationally in net adjusted EPA per play, but its defense is 93rd. Perfect shootout matchup.
Washington -3.5 is playable up to -4. Iowa enters a difficult travel spot with an injured quarterback after back-to-back games against Michigan and Ohio State, while Washington’s run defense is well equipped to take away the Hawkeyes’ preferred offensive approach.
I love the spot for Washington with this being a Friday game and Iowa coming off College Game Day and Ohio State last week and the thrilling win vs Michigan the week before. Now Iowa is travelling across the country on a short week. On top of that Washington is a team that takes money in the market every week, so there's often a lot of movement on their line close to kickoff. Their back is against the wall and they're getting some key players back from injury.
North Carolina's defense wears down as the game goes on, and Pitt will take advantage. The Panthers hold possession 31:38 per game and convert 46% of their third downs. Antonio Chadha is a perfect 5-for-5 on field goals and 23-for-23 on extra points, so even stalled drives turn into points.
The Tar Heels can add their own points. Pitt's pass defense just allowed 434 yards at Virginia Tech, and Billy Edwards Jr. threw three touchdown passes against Notre Dame. Jaden Jefferson returned a kickoff 98 yards against the Irish, and Pitt allows 25.8 yards per kick return.
Pitt has scored on 18 of 22 red-zone trips, including 14 touchdowns. Play this up to 47.5.
Oklahoma's offense is a mess, which is why I would take Texas up to -9.5. John Mateer's QBR was below 55 in two Power Four games against Michigan (52) and Georgia (44.4). The Sooners won't score enough against a Longhorns defense that's 11th in success rate (36.5%) to cover.
This line is begging me to take the points, but I can't do it. Oklahoma's offense was held to just 258 yards on 3.7 yards per play in last year's Red River Rivalry, and that offense may actually be worse this season, scoring just 12.3 points per game over its last three games and ranking 105th in total offense for the season. Texas has won the last two editions by a 57-6 combined scoreline and will make it three straight convincing wins on Saturday.
UCLA has all the makings of a team that can win this game outright. Yes, Dylan Raiola filled Dante Moore's shoes nicely against USC, but UCLA's defense will provide much more resistance, ranking 15th in opponent yards per play compared to USC's 87th. On the other side of the ball, UCLA leads the nation in yards per carry and sits fourth in yards per play. Take the points.
The Under is good down to 53.5. It'll be difficult for this game to shoot out given the leisurely tempo; USC checks in at 102nd in snaps per minute (28.0), and Penn State isn't far ahead at 83rd (27.1).
Play USC down to -2.5. This is a fade of Penn State, which managed 3.6 yards per play against Wisconsin at home --- squandering a 17-0 lead aided by three turnovers --- and got outgained by 215 yards against Northwestern.
I love the spot for Boise State. It's a revenge spot as they were favored by double digits and lost outright to Fresno State last season in a game where they lost their starting QB. I think this is a rare conference game that they have circled on their calander. I like the price as well, which I made seven. I'm not overly impressed by Fresno State so far this season.

As human beings, we're bound to be biased with our picks and potentially fall into the trap of swinging with the public. With advanced stats growing in popularity and getting harder to track, college football computer predictions are starting to become more relied on.
Betting on a moneyline simply means you're picking the outright winner of the game, regardless of the scoring margin or total. If the team you choose wins, then your bet hits. Here's what it will look like over at your favorite sportsbook:
| Team | Moneyline |
|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | -120 |
| Missouri Tigers | +150 |
In this case, Alabama is favored to win the game as its moneyline odds have a minus sign (-) in front of the number. The favorites will have the minus sign present, and the underdogs will have a plus sign (+). Easy, right?
Betting the spread gives your bet a bit more breathing room. Here, you don't need to sweat out a team to win. Instead, you can wager on the point differential on the scoreboard.
Betting on the spread is a good idea when the moneyline profits aren't enticing. There's no point betting on Alabama as a heavy -1500 favorite over Missouri. But taking Missouri to keep the scoring margin within a certain frame will get you more bang for your buck.
| Team | Spread |
|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | -24.5 (-105) |
| Missouri Tigers | +24.5 (-115) |
In this example, the Tide are favored to dominate their game against Missouri, outperforming them by at least 24.5 points.
If Alabama does win by more than 25 points, that would mean the Crimson Tide covered the spread. But if the Tide won by just 20 points, then that would mean the Tigers "covered the spread" instead.
If you think the outcome of a game could flip in either direction, then an Over/Under is the way to go. This bet relies on the combined score from both teams and whether it goes Over or Under the point total listed at sportsbooks. Then, who cares who wins?
| Team | Total |
|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | O 52.5 (-110) |
| Missouri Tigers | U 52.5 (-110) |
In this example, oddsmakers have set the total score for the game at 52.5 points. The choice is now up to you. If you think the Tide and Tigers will score a combined total of more than 52.5 points, 53 points or more, then pick the Over. If you're thinking otherwise, then bet the Under, and the bet will hit if they score fewer than 52.5 points.
If the set number was a whole number like 52 points and the two teams score exactly that amount, then it is considered a push and you'd get your money back.
