With an ACC victory in its back pocket, Wake Forest looks to remain unbeaten when it tackles FCS foe Delaware on Saturday at home. The Demon Deacons manhandled host Duke on both sides of the ball last week and are out to open the season 3-0 for the first time since 2008.

While capable of passing when needed, the Demon Deacons rely heavily on their running game, which went for 239 yards and three scores against Duke. Cade Carney was the driving force in Wake Forest snapping a five-game ACC losing streak as the freshman topped the 100-yard mark and scored three touchdowns against Duke. Dual-threat quarterback Kendall Hinton, who has split time behind center with John Wolford, ranks second on the team in rushing after netting 63 yards against the Blue Devils. "Whether this is a turning point in our program, you can't say now," coach Dave Clawson, who is 8-18 in three seasons in Winston-Salem, told the media. "I'd love at the end of the season to be able to say it was." The Blue Hens, who hail from the Colonial Athletic Association, come into their only game against an FBS opponent this season after beating up on a pair of FCS teams in Delaware State and Lafayette.

ABOUT DELAWARE (2-0): The Blue Hens, like Wake Forest, have more success running the ball than passing as their 671 yards in two games on the ground would attest. Wes Hills is the most efficient runner, averaging 10.6 yards per carry, but Thomas Jefferson (6.5) and Jalen Randolph (5.7) are no slouches for coach Dave Brock, who is 2-0 for the second time in his four years with the school. The Delaware defense has yet to allow a rushing touchdown this season and has come up with eight turnovers, including six interceptions.

ABOUT WAKE FOREST (2-0): While Carney leads the offense, Duke Ejiofor has been one of several difference makers on the defensive side of the ball in the first two games for the Demon Deacons. The redshirt junior, who earned All ACC honors for his play against Duke, leads the team with 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks while also forcing two fumbles, one of which he recovered. Julian Jackson has chipped in with two tackles for loss and two sacks for Wake Forest, which has won 10 straight and sports a 31-5 mark against FCS opponents.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Ejiofor's three sacks against Duke was one off the school record set in 1992 by Mike McCrary.

2. Delaware has lost six straight games to FBS schools since defeating Navy in 2007.

3. Carney became the first freshman to score three touchdowns in a game for Wake Forest since Chris Barclay accomplished the feat against Purdue in 2002.

PREDICTION: Wake Forest 34, Delaware 13
