Colorado vs Georgia Tech Picks & Props
COLO vs GT Picks
NCAAF PicksThese were two of the worst defenses in the Power Four last season, both ranking outside the Top 80 in EPA per pass and EPA per rush. With Georgia Tech adding Justice Haynes, he should thrive in the Yellow Jackets run-first offense (he averaged 3.77 yards per carry after contact last season). Colorado's additions at receiver will help Julian Lewis pressure a defense that was 114th in EPA per pass in 2025.
Colorado is once again leaning on a plethora of transfers - including its entire projected starting defense. The lack of continuity will be an issue against a Georgia Tech ground game that added one of the top running backs in the country, Justice Haynes. Brent Key's program is also in good shape defensively; it ranks 28th nationally in returning production (61%). There's too much on redshirt freshman QB Julian Lewis' plate for Deion Sanders' team to keep this close in Atlanta.
All 11 players on Colorado's starting defense are new transfers, and the coordinator, Chris Marve, is in his first year with the program. Georgia Tech's physical run game should take advantage of a defense that was 82nd in EPA per rush last season. But Colorado is poised to score points, too, with Julian Lewis in Year 2 and a strong trio of transfer receivers. I have Tech winning 31-24.
