Last Meeting ( Dec 18, 2019 ) Golden State 112, Portland 122

The Golden State Warriors snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 109-95 home win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday thanks to some strong effort on the defensive end. The Warriors will try to earn their first road victory since Dec. 6 when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday.

Golden State squandered a 19-point lead in a 134-131 overtime loss against Denver on Thursday and nearly blew another double-digit lead against the Magic before getting the key stops late. "We collectively did it," Warriors guard D'Angelo Russell told reporters. "We knew who they were running their sets through, who they were trying to get the ball to, who was going to hurt us on the offensive end. Just kind of took those guys away." The Trail Blazers are limping home from their three-game trip with back-to-back losses but are expecting to get some reinforcements after a reported trade over the weekend. Portland reportedly is sending Kent Bazemore and Anthony Tolliver to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Trevor Ariza, Wenyen Gabriel and Caleb Swanigan.

ABOUT THE WARRIORS (10-34): Golden State guard Stephen Curry (broken hand) served as a TV analyst for the game on Saturday and got particularly excited by the play of rookie guard Jordan Poole, who scored a season-high 21 points in 28 minutes off the bench. "The biggest thing is you are seeing him stack up some good games now," Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters of Poole. "Sometimes, a guy will have a game once in a while - anybody can kind of get hot - but I think he's put together four or five really good games in a row where he's made a significant impact." Russell added 26 points and 12 assists in the win and is averaging 23 points in four games since returning from a shoulder injury.

ABOUT THE TRAIL BLAZERS (18-26): Tolliver and Bazemore were not with the team on Saturday after news of the trade broke and guard CJ McCollum (ankle) sat out after suffering the injury on Friday in a loss at Dallas, leaving Portland with eight healthy players at Oklahoma City on Saturday. Gary Trent Jr, who needed IV treatment between games while fighting off an illness, scored a career-high 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting on Saturday to keep Portland close. "I was very happy Gary Trent had a good game," Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts told reporters. "Obviously, it was one of the best games of his career. Particularly coming off an illness, I thought that was a great game by him."

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Warriors Fs Draymond Green (finger) and Glenn Robinson III (abdominal) both sat out Saturday and are day-to-day.

2. Trail Blazers F Carmelo Anthony slumped to nine points on 4-of-13 shooting on Saturday.

3. Portland snapped a five-game losing streak in the series with a 122-112 home win over Golden State on Dec. 18.

PREDICTION: Warriors 107, Trail Blazers 102
