The Golden State Warriors put together their first four-game winning streak of the season thanks in large part to their efforts on the defensive end but suffered a big letdown on Saturday in a 141-121 home loss to the Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors will try to tighten things up when they begin a two-game trip by visiting the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.

Golden State allowed an average of 101.5 during its four-game winning streak but let the Mavericks knock down a franchise-record 24 3-pointers and shoot 52.2 percent from the floor in Saturday's setback. "Our morale is still great," Warriors forward Draymond Green told reporters. "I think our execution took a hit, but our team morale is still the same morale you watched when we won championships. That doesn't change. That's the culture that you build. Just because you're losing games, you just don't throw it by the wayside. You build that for it to last for years to come." The Spurs are battling inconsistency and traded off wins and losses over the nine games, with one of the better performances in that span coming in Saturday's 136-109 win over the Detroit Pistons. San Antonio knocked down a season-high 18 3-pointers in the victory and shot 57 percent from the floor.

ABOUT THE WARRIORS (9-25): Guard D'Angelo Russell scored 12 points in the first two minutes on Saturday and finished with 35 points on 13-of-21 shooting (9-of-14 from 3-point range) despite being injured in the third quarter. Russell was chasing a loose ball when he slammed into Dallas guard Luka Doncic and stayed on the floor for several minutes before being diagnosed with a bruised shoulder that will leave him day-to-day. "I'm good," Russell, who returned in the fourth quarter, told reporters. "I'm good. It's part of the game, obviously injuries are part of the game. Thank God it wasn't nothing too serious, just a little shoulder contusion. The contact, hard contact -- kind of knocked the wind out of me, but I'm good now."

ABOUT THE SPURS (13-18): San Antonio sandwiched a 145-115 win over Memphis and Saturday's performance around a 102-98 loss at Dallas, and the common theme between the two wins was the team's success from beyond the arc. The Spurs went 8-of-29 from 3-point range against Dallas after knocking down 15-of-24 at Memphis and went 18-of-35 on Saturday. Part of that success from beyond the arc comes from All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who went 5-of-6 from 3-point range on Saturday and is 9-of-13 over the last three games.

2. Spurs SG DeMar DeRozan went 13-of-16 from the floor on Saturday and did not attempt a 3-pointer.

3. San Antonio earned a 127-110 win at Golden State on Nov. 1.
