Right-hander Trevor Bauer looks to match his last outing against the Toronto Blue Jays when the Cleveland Indians visit for the second of a three-game series Tuesday, seeking a ninth victory in 10 contests. Bauer walked six and struck out eight while holding the Blue Jays without a hit over seven scoreless innings in a 4-1 triumph on April 4, and hopes to reach double-digit wins for the fifth straight season.

Rookie outfielder Oscar Mercado had two hits, including a home run, in Monday’s 7-3 victory and is 13-for-31 with four blasts and 11 RBIs over his last eight contests for the Indians, while teammate Jose Ramirez recorded multiple hits for the seventh time in 16 games this month. Cleveland, which owns the top wild card spot in the American League, won 14 of its last 17 contests and has taken all five meetings with Toronto this season after pounding out seven extra-base hits in Monday’s win. The Blue Jays have lost six of nine and two straight after managing just five hits in the series opener, including a two-run homer by Billy McKinney and a solo shot by Justin Smoak. Rookie slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a pair of hits Monday and is 7-for-15 with a homer and five RBIs over his last four contests for the Blue Jays, who send right-hander Aaron Sanchez to the mound looking to end a 10-start losing streak.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
