Last Meeting ( Aug 14, 2016 ) Chi. White Sox 4, Miami 5

The Chicago White Sox rebounded a bit in the third stop of a long road trip following the All-Star break and look to continue their success at home when they host the Miami Marlins on Monday to begin a three-game interleague set. The White Sox, who are 25-20 at home, opened the second half with a season-high seven-game losing streak to start their trek before winning two of three at Tampa Bay over the weekend.

Center fielder Adam Engel went 6-for-11 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the series for Chicago after being recalled, while teammate Yolmer Sanchez had two hits in Sunday’s 4-2 loss to improve to 8-for-21 with three RBIs in his last five games. Veteran Ivan Nova is 4-0 with a 0.98 ERA in his career against Miami as he takes the mound for the series opener and the Marlins counter with fellow right-hander Trevor Richards, who has not posted a win since June 2. Miami was swept by the major league-best Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend - getting outscored 21-7 in the process - after being blanked 9-0 on Sunday while managing six hits and committing two errors. Catcher Jorge Alfaro had two of the hits for the Marlins in the setback and has hit safely in seven straight road games in which he logged an official at-bat were, going 13-for-27 during that span.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
