The Braves have lost four straight to start the year and failed to score a run in each of their past two games, so a date with the 5-0 Dodgers doesn’t set up well for Atlanta. I also give Los Angeles a huge pitching edge with Tyler Glasnow headed to the bump. The 31-year-old righty was also lights out when healthy last year. His 2.68 xFIP and .189 opposing batting average both ranked fourth among starters with at least 120 innings last season, and Glasnow’s 32.2 K% was the third highest. The Los Angeles lineup is also loaded, and I’m expecting them to do damage against Atlanta starter Grant Holmes. Holmes posted a 4.01 ERA as a starter for the Braves last season, and while his 1.76 mark across 15 1/3 spring innings jumps off the page, Holmes’ underlying 5.08 xFIP suggests there’s trouble ahead.
