Miami's Giancarlo Stanton will try to continue his assault on Coors Field when the Marlins visit the Colorado Rockies on Saturday in the third of a four-game series. Stanton has played five games in Denver and homered in all of them. His latest - an estimated 494 feet - helped Miami to a 6-5 victory Friday. Stanton, who has 23 homers this season, is 11-for-33 with four homers and seven RBIs in his last nine games overall. The Rockies, who are a National League-worst 25-38 at home, had their four-game winning streak snapped and lost for only the fourth time in their last 11 games. The Marlins have won only five of their last 18 games on the road.

Miami's Nathan Eovaldi is 0-2 with a 6.52 ERA in two starts against Colorado, including a 3-2 loss at Coors Field on June 3 while a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies' Tyler Chatwood has won his last two starts and is 2-1 with a 1.26 ERA since being inserted into Colorado's four-man rotation. Chatwood has helped stabilize a pitching staff that has the worst ERA in the majors at 5.44, and the highest at home (6.07).

PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH Nathan Eovaldi (3-8, 4.28 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Tyler Chatwood (3-2, 4.28)

Eovaldi is 2-2 with a 4.67 ERA and has alternated wins and losses in four starts since coming to Miami in the Hanley Ramirez trade. He allowed three runs (two earned) and eight hits in a 4-0 loss to Philadelphia on Monday after yielding four hits and six walks in five shutout innings in a 13-0 victory against the Mets in New York on Aug. 8. Carlos Gonzalez and Dexter Fowler have two hits apiece in a combined nine at-bats against Eovaldi.

With an about 75-pitch limit, it is hard for a Rockies starter to record a victory, but Chatwood has been the exception. He has allowed two runs (one earned) and seven hits in last two starts covering 11 innings, including an 8-6 victory over Milwaukee on Tuesday when he went six frames. Chatwood, who was drafted in 2008 by the Los Angeles Angels in the second round, has never faced the Marlins.

WALK-OFFS

1. Colorado's Eric Young Jr. went 2-for-5 Friday and is hitting .453 (29-for-64) with 16 runs scored since July 31.

2. Stanton's homer Friday was the longest at Coors Field this season.

3. Rockies RHP Jhoulys Chacin could return to the rotation early next week when the Rockies begin a seven-game road trip with four against the New York Mets. He went seven innings and threw 91 pitches for Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday. Chacin, who had a right pectoral muscle injury, hasn't pitched for Colorado since May 1.
