Things haven't unraveled this quickly in Cleveland since LeBron James went public with "The Decision." Not even a return home could reverse the fortunes of the staggering Indians, who tumbled to their 10th consective defeat by absorbing a 14-3 beating from the Minnesota Twins in Monday's series opener. It's the ninth losing streak of at least 10 games in franchise history and four of the losses have come against Minnesota by an aggregate score of 42-9.

The Twins have won eight of 11 and erupted for their first 10-run inning in 12 years Monday night. Minnesota has been held under four runs just twice during the last 11 games and pounded out four homers Monday, including three in the 10-run frame. Josh Willingham belted his 29th homer to match his career-high total from a year ago. Ben Revere collected four hits to run his hitting streak to a career-high 20 games.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Twins RH Samuel Deduno (3-0, 2.48) vs. Indians RH Corey Kluber (0-0, 12.16)

Deduno has won three consecutive starts and keeps impressing more with each outing. He blanked the Boston Red Sox on two hits in six innings last time out and limited the Indians to one run on two hits in seven innings on July 28. One ongoing issue for Deduno is his lack of control: He has walked 20 and struck out 19 over 29 innings in his five career starts.

Kluber had a forgettable first career start, getting tagged by the Kansas City Royals for six runs on six hits in the first inning. He allowed two homers and a triple in the opening frame before settling down and allowing three hits in the next 3 1/3 innings. Kluber struck out 128 batters in 125 1/3 innings in 21 starts at Triple-A Columbus this year.

WALK-OFFS

1. Deduno has allowed only two runs and 10 hits in 19 1/3 innings during his winning streak.

2. The Indians have been outscored 88-31 during the skid. It's the most they've allowed in a 10-game span since giving up 89 in August 1938.

3. Justin Morneau homered twice Monday to reach 200 for his career, becoming the fourth Canadian-born player to reach that milestone.
