DETROIT -- Joey Gallo hit a two-run home run and Mike Napoli a solo shot while Nick Martinez limited Detroit to one unearned run over five innings Friday night to lead the streaking Texas Rangers to a 5-3 victory over the Tigers and their 10th win in a row.

Martinez (1-2) threw 92 pitches in his five innings, allowing four hits, striking out four and walking just one in his first win in six starts as the Rangers notched just the fourth two-digit winning streak in franchise history.

Tony Barnette allowed a run in the sixth, but Keone Kela worked two scoreless frames and Matt Bush picked up his fifth save despite giving up a run in the ninth.

A single plus a walk put two runners on in the ninth for the Tigers, and J.D. Martinez beat out an infield single to short, with the run scoring on Elvis Andrus' second throwing error of the game. But Alex Avila struck out to end the game.

Daniel Norris (2-3) struck out eight for the second time this season but failed to reach the seventh for the eighth straight start. He lasted 5 2/3 inning and allowed the Rangers five runs on seven hits, including both home runs, and two walks.

The Tigers played without their Nos. 3 and 4 hitters as Miguel Cabrera missed his third straight game due to a sore side and Victor Martinez was excused for weekend paternity leave.

James McCann's sacrifice fly in the sixth for the Tigers made it 5-2. Justin Upton walked leading off the inning and Nick Castellanos singled, with both runners moving up on a wild pitch.

Gallo's 13th home run was off a 2-0 fastball by Norris and went deep into the lower deck in right with Rougned Odor, who had singled, on base. It boosted the Texas lead to 5-1.

Detroit shaved its deficit to 3-1 on an RBI single to right by Andrew Romine with the bases loaded and two outs in the fourth.

Texas upped its lead to 3-0 in the fourth when Napoli led off with his ninth home run of the season, which was just inside the left-field foul pole.

The Rangers scored two runs on just one hit in the third, loading the bases with one out on a single, walk and hit batter. The runs came in when Andrus walked and Jonathan Lucroy hit into a forceout at second.

NOTES: 1B Miguel Cabrera (left side strain) said Friday he is hopeful of returning to Detroit's lineup Saturday or Sunday. ... Texas OF Nomar Mazara was out of the starting lineup Friday. Manager Jeff Banister said it was because he was a little under the weather as well as giving the left-handed hitter a day off because of Detroit's LHP Daniel Norris. ... 3B Nick Castellanos was bumped from second to sixth in the Tigers' lineup, manager Brad Ausmus said, to "maybe take a little bit of the spotlight off him, see if he can get his stroke back." ... The Rangers' 8-0 homestand marked just the second time in club history it had gone unbeaten in a stretch of eight or more home games.
