Man City look to win in Spain to avoid any complications in the Champions League table. At the same time, Villarreal are desperate to add something to their tally after winning just one point from the six available thus far.

After winning four and drawing one in their last five games, City are in form and should be on good display. I'm backing Man City to win. See why in Villarreal vs. Man City predictions and free soccer betting picks for Tuesday, October 21.

Villarreal vs Man City picks and predictions

My Villarreal vs Man City best bet: Manchester City moneyline (-145 at Sports Interaction)

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has never lost against Villarreal, facing them on eight occasions. He won five times, and the other three finished in draws.

The two highest possession averages in a UEFA Champions League game in the current campaign have both been by Manchester City (73.8% vs. Napoli and 71.3% vs. Monaco).

Villarreal only rank 29th out of the 36 teams for possession average, at 43.1%. So, we can tell early where the ball will be throughout Tuesday night's clash. And judging by City's ascending form, I can't see them not taking advantage.

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has scored eight goals in eight UEFA Champions League appearances against Spanish opponents. He looks well-equipped to shine again, given that he comes from hitting the net 14 times since the start of the season, in just 10 outings.

I will take Sports Interaction's -145 return on a City win that will keep them among the Top 8 teams in the Champions League standings.

Villarreal vs Man City same-game parlay (SGP)

Man City moneyline

Erling Haaland anytime goal

Man City Over 5.5 corners

Villarreal Over 1.5 total cards

Haaland's form is vital to keep City on track. He's been delivering non-stop since the start of the season, and Pep Guardiola counts on his goals moving forward. Three of his 14 goals came in the Champions League. He hit the net once in the 2-0 home win against Napoli, then recorded a brace in Monaco, where City won a point following a 2-2 draw.

In their 2-0 win over Everton at the weekend, City had no fewer than 11 corners. I will include the Over 5.5 in my SGP, given that possession is likely to be City's, and there should be loads of action around the Villarreal box.

The Over on 1.5 cards for Villarreal looks solid, considering City have many gifted players who are likely to be stopped through fouls.
