It's still early, but things are getting very interesting atop the English Premier League standings.
A whopping nine teams are within three points of top spot through the first six weeks of the season, with only two teams boasting a goal differential north of plus-five. Everton and defending champion Liverpool share top spot entering the new matchday with 13 points apiece, though neither team is the title favorite – in fact, none of the teams in that nine-club logjam are the oddsmakers' choice. That distinction still belongs to 13th-place Manchester City, who are installed at +125 to prevail.

Premier League Predictions for Matchday 7
Sheffield United vs Manchester City (Saturday, 8:30 a.m. ET)
Manchester City will need to start climbing the standings soon, or risk falling too many points behind the leaders to have a shot at converting those championship odds. And things won't get much easier than they are this weekend, with Man City travelling to Bramall Lane for an encounter with a Sheffield United team with just one point and three goals through its first five matches.
Man City have started to heat up with three victories and a draw over their previous four games, including a pair of impressive Champions League victories over Marseille and FC Porto. That should give the club sufficient momentum to cruise against a Sheffield side that has shown no inkling of being competitive against one of the best rosters in European domestic soccer.
TIP: Man City/Man City Half-Time/Full-Time (-110)
Tottenham vs Brighton (Sunday, 3:15 p.m. ET)
Tottenham have been adept at picking up points since opening the season on a low note – and they're well on their way to improving on a disappointing 2019/20 campaign, sitting fifth in the table through the first six weeks. But Spurs can't rest on their laurels as they look to extend their unbeaten streak to six games in league play against struggling Brighton.
We'll be focusing on the totals play in this one, with both teams having seen plenty of action at both sides of the pitch so far. Spurs lead the Premier League with 16 goals through six games, while Brighton are one of only two teams that have scored and allowed double-digit goals so far this season. The standard O2.5 doesn't pay off well, but we like stepping this one up by a goal.
TIP: Over 3.5 Goals (+162)
Leeds vs Leicester (Monday, 4 p.m. ET)
This game is as close as an English Premier League matchup can get in terms of odds, with host Leeds (+160) an infinitesimal underdog against a Leicester side (+160) that rebounded nicely from back-to-back league losses with a 1-0 away victory over Arsenal. Leeds, meanwhile, looked impressive in a thorough 3-0 beating of host Aston Villa last time out.
Two strange trends are the catalyst for our Monday match pick. Leeds have been strangely ineffective at home this season, with just one win in four matches at Elland Road. And that plays directly into Leicester's hands, with the 2015-16 league champions having earned four victories and one draw in their five away matches. We like the road team to prevail here.
TIP: Leicester (+160)
