Botafogo are unbeaten in their last five competitive matches against Palmeiras, so they have a big mental advantage in this All-Brazil FIFA Club World Cup match on Saturday, June 27. But it's a totally different competition compared to those they're usually challenging for.

I expect little scoring, so my Palmeiras vs. Botafogo predictions and FIFA Club World Cup free picks will go for Under 2.5 goals in this Club World Cup Round of 16 confrontation.

Palmeiras vs Botafogo picks and predictions

My Palmeiras vs Botafogo best bet: Under 2.5 (-189 at Betano)

The most recent league meeting between Palmeiras and Botafogo came on the opening day of the 2025 Brazilian season, and it ended in a 0-0 draw.

These two have been battling it out over the past few seasons in Brazil. Botafogo are the reigning champions, having succeeded Palmeiras, who won Série A in 2022 and 2023. They were also runners-up in 2024, when Botafogo won.

Botafogo also won the South American supreme club title, the Copa Libertadores, for the first time in 2024. Palmeiras have three such trophies on record in 1999, 2020, and 2021.

Botafogo are unbeaten in the last five competitive matches against Palmeiras (W3 D2). Their most recent meeting in a knockout tie was the 2024 Copa Libertadores Round of 16, and Botafogo advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to a 4-3 victory on aggregate.

Palmeiras lost only two of their last 13 games in all competitions (W9 D2 L2), while Botafogo were on a five-game winning streak before Atletico Madrid ended it with a 1-0 triumph over the Brazilian champions on the last day of the Club World Cup group stage.

Botafogo also beat European Champions League winners PSG at this year's Club World Cup, and they did it in style.

I will stick to the Under 2.5 goals in this game, for which Betano pays -189. I anticipate a fierce confrontation between two sides who know each other very well and whose defenses match up to some of the best in the world.

Palmeiras vs Botafogo same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 2.5

Igor Jesus 2+ shots on target

Over 9.5 corners

Igor Jesus found the net for Botafogo both home and away in the aforementioned Copa Libertadores. At this Club World Cup, he scored against Seattle and PSG, so I expect him to try and take center stage against Palmeiras once more.

Note that Igor Jesus 3+ shots on target is at a fantastic +550, if you want to get your SGP to even higher returns.

In Botafogo's last two matches at the Club World Cup, there have been 11 corners (vs. PSG) and 12 (vs. Atletico). Palmeiras had seven corners vs Inter Miami and six against Al Ahly Cairo in their last two CWC outings, so I can see more of the same against Botafogo.

I'll opt for the Over 9.5 corners to round up a nice +800 profit at Betano.
