Columbus Crew vs
Los Angeles Galaxy
Pick: Draw (+280)
While the Joao Klauss injury doesn’t appear to be too serious, odds are he’s rested for the cross-country trip to Columbus.
That's a big boost for the Crew, who are trying to figure out how to play without their big striker signing. A draw wouldn’t be a bad result, and I expect that’s what the Crew will get.
New York City FC vs
FC Cincinnati
Pick: Draw (+275)
Yankee Stadium’s condensed pitch will help Cincinnati’s defense, as will NYCFC’s struggles to find a consistent goal-scoring threat in the center of the box. The Pigeons are winless in their last four but should get at least a point here.
New York Red Bulls vs
DC United
Pick: Draw (+270)
This NYRB side is maddening, losing yet again convincingly to Montreal. DC United can’t get a win, partly because they've scored only four goals through eight matches. This has 1-1 written all over it.
Orlando City vs
Charlotte FC
Pick: Charlotte FC (+155)
Any time I get this kind of price to face this horrid Orlando City side, I’m jumping on it. Orlando nearly got a result last week against a poor Houston side, but this Charlotte team is playing very well and has the attackers to rip through this porous Orlando defense.
Toronto FC vs
Philadelphia Union
Pick: Toronto FC (+135)
Philly still aren’t a team I’m worried about. They struggle to score, and Toronto are playing very well at the moment. I’ll back them to push their unbeaten run to seven matches with another home win.
Atlanta United vs
New England Revolution
Pick: Atlanta United (+100)
The Revs have been outstanding at home this season. On the road, not so much — three defeats, and eight goals conceded vs. two scored. Atlanta’s not a good team, but they’re good enough to get the win.
FC Dallas vs
Minnesota United
Pick: FC Dallas (+100)
I think Minnesota are the slightly better squad. But after three matches in California and a trip home last Wednesday, a quick turnaround to Texas will add some fatigue.
FC Dallas have only lost once this season, and will enjoy being at home for the third match running.
Houston Dynamo FC vs
San Diego FC
Pick: Draw (+280)
Both teams are struggling, both come in after a road tilt, and neither can be trusted. San Diego are in free-fall, and Houston can’t stop allowing late goals. There’s not a single result that would surprise me here, which makes the draw the most appealing play.
Real Salt Lake vs
Inter Miami
Pick: Real Salt Lake (+125)
Lionel Messi’s individual brilliance bailed out Inter Miami against Colorado in a match where they looked wholly disorganized in defense.
Diego Luna and Sergi Solans will punish that chaotic structure and generate multiple scoring opportunities against a Herons' side playing at altitude for the second time in five days.
Los Angeles FC vs
Colorado Rapids
Pick: LAFC (-244)
Colorado struggled to contain Messi, and doing that against Heung-min Son and Denis Bouanga will be quite the challenge. I expect them to bounce back and get a comfortable victory.
San Jose Earthquakes vs
Austin FC
Pick: San Jose (-213)
This should be an easy one for San Jose, fresh off their impressive showing against LAFC. Austin will have flown to Louisville, then Toronto, and then California in a one-week span. Fatigue will absolutely be a factor, not to mention they’re simply overmatched.
