Heading into Tuesday’s Benfica vs. Bayern Munich matchup, the fate of three teams in Group C of the FIFA Club World Cup is unknown.

Bayern are top of the group with six points following victories over Auckland City and Boca to put them in a great position. Two points behind them are Benfica.

Bayern will win the group if they avoid defeat here, and I believe they will win outright.

Benfica haven’t really impressed through two games. They drew their opener 2-2 with Boca but they rescued a point with a late equalizer and were lucky to get back from 2-0 down. They were undoubtedly helped by Ander Herrera getting sent off for Boca with half of the game left.

If that hadn’t happened, then you’d have to think they’d have lost that game. They beat Auckland City 6-0 in their second game, but in truth, that scoreline flattered them. They only scored their first goal in the eighth minute of added time in the first half, with the Australian side completely collapsing in the final 30 minutes of the game, giving up four goals when they were exhausted.

Compare that with Bayern's wins, and it’s clear to see how much better they are.

The Bavarians swatted aside Auckland City, scoring 10 goals. They were six up at halftime, which allowed them to make changes in the second half. One of those changes saw Jamal Musiala return from injury, and he managed a second-half hat trick. Bayern then beat Boca 2-1 last week with 73% possession while taking nearly double the amount of shots.

With their status as group winners not yet secure, we’re likely to see Vincent Kompany play his best lineup, which means the likes of Musiala and Kane should start. Musiala is yet to start a game, as is Dayot Upamecano, and those two being in the team from the start would make this incredibly difficult for Benfica, adding real quality at both ends of the field.

Bayern Munich moneyline

Harry Kane to score

Michael Olise to score or assist

Kane has scored 39 goals for Bayern Munich this season and continues to be one of the very best No. 9s on the planet.

After putting up a blank in the opener against Auckland City, there were question marks over Kane. But as always, he dispelled them, scoring inside 18 minutes of Bayern's most recent game against Boca.

Michael Olise has become a true star at Bayern Munich, and we’re backing him to either join Kane on the scoresheet or assist a goal.

He’s now scored 20 goals and assisted on 19 for Bayern this campaign but it’s his red-hot form that's the main reason for backing the Frenchman here. In his past nine games, he’s scored eight goals and set up a further seven for his teammates, including three goals and two assists in this competition already.
