I'm not sure why he posted his plays in the hockey forum where so few people go, but, he posted a terrific write up to the series, and best yet
HE POSTED HIS PLAYS
Two of my first round losses was the Habs over Boston and the Pens over the Lightning
Obviously I misjudged both of these teams
First I will deal with Tampa....
I really STILL do not know what to think of them
It took 7 games to beat the Pens, although the Lightning dominated the play
Tampa lost 3 of the first 4 games, before running off 3 straight wins
The Lightning then quickly dispatched the Capitals in 4 straight games
The Lightning are now 5-1 on the road in the playoffs, and their power play has been deadly, converting 12 times in 45 opportunities ( 26.7 % )
The Lightnings most glaring weakness this post season has been the time they have spent in the sin bin...
In 11 games, the Lightning have been shorthanded 54 times,
18 times in the 5 home games and 36 times in the 6 road games
The overall PK of 94.4% ( 3 goals allowed in 54 attempt...ALL THE GOALS ON TAMPA ICE... ) and "special teams" is what has gotten the Lightning this far
Goaltending has been good, giving up a total of 24 goals in 11 games ( 2.18 GAA )
20 goals 5-5
1 goal 3-5
2 goals 4-5

Now lets compare some of these stats with the Bruins

Boston power play .......2 goals in 37 opportunities ( 5.4% )
Lightning have been shorthanded 54 times,
18 times in the 5 home games and 36 times in the 6 road games
Boston have been shorthanded 41 times,
18 times in the 6 home games and 23 times in the 5 road games
TAMPA PK of 94.4% ..3 goals allowed in 54 attempt
3-18 home, 0-36 road
Boston PK of 80.5% ..8 goals allowed in 41 attempt
3-18 home, 5-23 road

20 goals 5-5
1 goal 3-5
2 goals 4-5

Boston will have home ice advantage in this series, even though both teams ended up with the same exact record ( 46 - 25 -11 )
Both teams have shown they can win on the road, but Tampas PERFECT PK on foreign ice has to be considered when deciding who to take in this series
Tampa takes too many penalties, but Boston has been miserable on the power play
Tampa has been deadly when having the extra man, and the Bruins PK was just 80.5% in the first two rounds
I see this series going to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and will be happy to take the + 125 price
Tampa Bay Lightning +125 ... risking 3500 to win 4375
also a few small "exact series results " wagers
Tampa 4-0 + 1415 risking 100
Tampa 4-1 + 805 risking 200
Tampa 4-2 + 485 risking 400
Tampa 4-3 + 525 risking 300
