Interesting game and matchup here... its been a solid season for Purdue thus far. They have played well despite the loss of Hummel and have proven they are still very much a threat to make a deep run in March.
MSU on the other hand has been on the verge of collapse for the past month. Only the play of Kalin Lucas has kept this team from totally folding.
Neither one of these teams is deep... so how this game is officiated will be huge. Purdue cannot afford to lose Johnson and MSU cannot afford to lose Lucas.
MSU showed against OSU that they can attack inside. MSU will need Nix-Sherman-Roe and Green to be aggressive and attack the basket. Purdue doesn't have depth their and if they are aggressive they will pose alot of threats to Purdue.
Purdue on the other hand needs to attack the rim as well... they have a very talented backcourt and they need need both Moore and Jackson to attack Lucas and Summers off the dribble.
X factors in this game are officiating and Durrel Summers. In order for State to win they need Summers to hit shots and they need the game to be called tight inside. If one or both of these happens MSU can win...if neither happens they will not.
Am going with Purdue today...I think Purdue will take advantage of MSU's bench players... Kebler-Thornton and Sherman are not offensive players...adn when they are on the court I expect Purdue to really clamp down and make it very very hard for MSU to score.
Purdue +1 for me
